I've had Dyslexia my whole life yet I'm a CEO. That doesn't make me special in anyway. Just a straggler among a group of known CEOs (and surely thousands unknown) who have Dyslexia...and actually gain from it. The late 1970's Virginia school system wanted me to repeat first grade because "I was not bright" when it came to reading and writing. My Mom didn't buy it, did a lot of research and found someone studying this fairly unknown-at-the-time condition. I moved on to 2nd grade but with many July and August months for years spent in summer Dyslexia school (I hated that while my friends were free). In the end, time well spent as I raced through Middle school, High school, College and decades later, worked my up to run a high growth tech company. I still read and write slower than the average person but I do like the concepts research on Dyslexia shows: It can drive more: - creativity - pattern recognition and big picture thinking - alternative problem solving - resilience - entrepreneurial spirit - innovative thinking I don't know how many of these traits I have but one can certainly see them in well known Dyslexic CEOs and/or leaders: - Richard Branson - Charles Schwab - Walt Disney - Henry Ford - Steve Jobs I don't belong in that class but do take inspiration from the list (which goes on and on). The point of the post is not me or CEOs but for those out there with Dyslexia (or their kids), it just may equal super powers! And I'll be forever thankful to my Mom for challenging the norms of the time.

Ever been in a room where half the crowd yells “Genius!” and the other half shouts “That’s ridiculous!”? Yeah, welcome to the comment section, aka the new Town Hall. The thing is, those wildly different takes are goldmines of insight if you know how to read them. Our latest blog breaks down the new Town Hall of the internet, why comments move culture, and how social monitoring tools can save your sanity. Check it out; it's a must-read: https://lnkd.in/eUHYgnt8

Ok, we shared Part 1 last week. Here's Part 2 of our founders, Tim Murphy and Erik Swain, guessing the team by voice only. We think there's a clear winner, but if Erik asks, we didn't say that... 😁

How well do our co-founders, Erik Swain and Tim Murphy, know our team? We challenged them to see how many employees they could guess, by voice only. Watch and find out who won! And stay tuned for part 2... 👀

You know what makes a team great? The ability to work AND play well together. It's an HR leader's dream, amiright, Rachel Sutherland? We had a hell of a time in Tempe, AZ last week for our annual, all-company offsite. We learned, we strategized, we planned, and we had fun. Some of us met each other for the first time, while others have known each other since Respondology's beginning. But that's why it's good to get some IRL time together: to touch grass, build relationships, and remember why we're all here. Thank you to our founders, Erik Swain, Tim Murphy, and Aaron Benor for such an amazing time, and a HUGE shoutout to our logistics extraordinaire, Tara H. for coordinating and organizing this trip for 40+ people!
