Congratulations to the City of Providence, Mayor Brett Smiley, and Providence Public Schools on breaking ground on major renovations to Mount Pleasant High School! Thanks to support from Governor Dan McKee, Speaker Joe Shekarchi, and Senate President Valarie Lawson, we're renovating and building new public school facilities in Providence and across Rhode Island. Since 2019, we've provided the City of Providence with more than $120 million in tax exempt bond financing for public school construction and renovation projects across the city. #BuiltByBonds

Today we visited Excel Academy in North Providence, a charter public school serving students in grades 5-8. Utilizing a $25,000 RIHEBC Capital Grant Program award, Excel Academy was able to build out a new conference room, teachers staff room, and additional classroom space. We're proud to help Rhode Island's health & educational organizations meet their facilities needs and their missions.

RIHEBC congratulates the Town of Cumberland, Rhode Island on making major investments in Cumberland Public Schools including renovations to Ashton Elementary School, Community Elementary School, Garvin Elementary School, John McLaughlin Elementary School, and the new B.F. Norton Elementary School. Thanks to support from Governor Dan McKee, Speaker Joe Shekarchi, and Senate President Valarie Lawson, we're renovating and building new public school facilities in Cumberland and across Rhode Island. Since 2016, RIHEBC has provided more than $90 million in bond financing to the Town of Cumberland for school facilities projects. #BuiltByBonds

We recently closed on $125,000,000 in bond financing for the Town of North Providence for the construction of the new Whelan and Greystone Elementary Schools, additions to North Providence High School to house school administration, renovations to the high school's auditorium, and renovations and improvements to the Ricci and Birchwood Middle Schools. It was a pleasure to attend today's Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce Economic Outlook Luncheon featuring Federal Reserve Board Chair Jerome Powell. Chair Powell remarked that "your country is your education system." We concur and are proud to provide financing to Rhode Island's public and private educational institutions so they can meet their facilities needs and their missions.
