*Construction project update* It’s almost time! In the coming months, River Hospital will be embarking on a construction project to complete the transformation and modernization of our facilities. With our focus set on ensuring the local community has access to exceptional healthcare, close to home, our mission for this project was to continue to modernize our spaces to enhance the experience for patients and their families, and to support our care teams in delivering high-quality care. Some key benefits of this project include: -Newly sized inpatient rooms, including showers for each room -Additional negative pressure/isolation capabilities designed to care for patients with an infectious disease -A redesigned floor plan to improve workflows -Technology updates to accommodate a nurse/patient call system for our inpatient unit -Improvements to the lower level of the hospital that will enhance the patient experience in our support services and imaging departments We are currently licensed for 22 inpatient beds, and with the new construction redesign this will reduce our number of licensed beds to 17 in order to meet the current facility guideline requirements. Based on our census data over the last several years, we don’t anticipate this reduction in the number of licensed beds to negatively impact access to care or staffing levels.
