Thank you for making Recycle with Ronald McDonald House a fall favorite! 🍂♻️ We had a fantastic time this past Saturday, celebrating community, sustainability, and family fun! Thanks to your generosity — and a whole lot of pop tabs — we raised more than $100,000 (and counting!) to help keep families close. 💕 A heartfelt thank you to our amazing partner, United Scrap Metal, Inc., for hosting and helping us turn recycling into a meaningful way to give back. But the impact doesn’t stop there — keep collecting your pop tabs year-round! Each and every little tab adds up to support families staying at Ronald McDonald House Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana.

This week, our team hit the road with 458 boxes of cookies and handwritten notes of thanks from our very own families. We visited every McDonald's restaurant across the Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana region to recognize the incredible owner/operators, general managers, and crew who support our families year-round. 🍪❤️ From Richmond, IL to Michigan City, IN, volunteers, board members, and staff came together to deliver sweet treats and gratitude. Our refreshed brand helps us better reflect who we are today — a network of 10 Ronald McDonald Houses and Family Rooms, with programs serving families across the region, together as one. Our promise remains the same: Family stays. 

For nearly five decades, Ronald McDonald House Chicago has provided a safe home and essential resources to families with children receiving medical care. For 21 of those years, the United Scrap Metal community—our colleagues, clients and partners—has proudly dedicated October to raising awareness and funds for this vital mission. While Ronald McDonald House services are offered to families free of charge, the cost of one night’s stay is equivalent to $95. By joining forces, we can make a meaningful impact—helping provide families with peace of mind so they can focus on what matters most: their child. This Saturday, October 18, we’re hosting a day of celebration—honoring the incredible mission of Ronald McDonald House, the generosity of our USM community and providing an afternoon full of family fun for the Chicagoland area. Congratulations to Team Ronald McDonald House Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana on an unforgettable Chicago Marathon race day! 🎉 Thanks to their dedication, training, and fundraising, we raised more than $148,000 to support families staying close to their hospitalized children — making us the top fundraising team and helping Ronald McDonald House Global surpass $3 million overall! We’re incredibly proud of every Team Ronald McDonald House Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana member. Special shoutouts go to Robert Rhyne, who inspired 86 donors to give, and Matt Goedeke, our top fundraiser with $3,622 raised for families! Plus, a huge thank-you to the thousands of supporters who cheered across the city — your energy lit up the course with love and encouragement. 🙌 ➡️ We’re already looking ahead to another amazing year!
