How do markets adapt when policy changes? Our latest study finds menthol sales dropped sharply after California’s flavored tobacco restriction, while alternative products with a similar cooling sensation surged. “Our analysis shows the law was effective in reducing menthol cigarette sales, but the market adapted quickly,” said lead author Morgan Whitney, a public health analyst at RTI. “Stronger enforcement and clearer product definitions may be needed to ensure the law achieves its intended effect.” Learn more ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/ezj-2nxG

Supporting veterans and military families is part of who we are at RTI International. For more than four decades, our teams have worked alongside the U.S. military, using science to help solve real-world challenges and support those who serve, their families, and veterans. That experience shapes how we think about leadership, adaptability, and service beyond the uniform. We carry that perspective forward in many ways, including showing up for conversations that help strengthen pathways for military-connected talent. That’s why we’ll be attending the Unlock the Veteran & MilSpouse Advantage Roadshow, to listen, learn, and continue building understanding across North Carolina. It’s not about a single moment. It’s about showing up, consistently. Most cancer breakthroughs don’t start in hospitals. They start years earlier, often in places you’d never expect. In the 1960s, RTI scientists were asking a different question: What if answers to cancer treatment could come from nature itself? That curiosity helped shape how modern cancer research and therapies are developed today, and it reflects how RTI still works: ✅ long-term science, rigorous evidence, and impact that compounds over time. On #WorldCancerDay, we’re sharing one example of how #RTIImpact is built on science, and why discovery still matters. ➡️ Swipe to explore how RTI’s early research helped shape modern cancer treatment, and why discovery still drives our work today. #WorldCancerDay #BuiltOnScience #CancerResearch #ScienceMatters
