Fun project we recently completed with Santa Cruz Bicycles! It was amazing to get a rare glimpse behind the curtain of this truly innovative solar-powered factory. Thanks SCB for welcoming us with open arms. Video by the talented team at Directive Digital.

Another successful Grazing on the Green — powered by the sun and Sandbar Solar! This annual event, held at Aptos Village Park and hosted by the Santa Cruz Cancer Benefit Group, is always one of our favorites. Just completed! Big congrats to Año Nuevo State Park on their newly installed ground-mount solar array + battery backup. This project presented a range of challenges, including underground trenching and connection issues, but our creative team of experts collaborated to devise solutions to make their request a reality. If you haven't experienced the wonders of this park, we highly recommend it!

It's been a blast highlighting some of our commercial clients over the past four months. Getting a backstage pass to witness firsthand how solar energy is now facilitating the creation of some of our favorite products has been incredibly rewarding. So far, we've had the privilege of touring and filming at Annieglass, Bargetto Winery, and Verve Coffee Roasters (shown here). Tomorrow, we'll be heading over to capture all the production magic at Santa Cruz Bicycles. Big high fives to these awesome companies, and be sure to keep a lookout for our next batch of partner highlights in the coming months!

Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words, but other times 248 words can paint a pretty good picture. The following is a 5-star review that just came through the inbox. All smooth and no cost creep...we did not expect that! When we decided to get solar we buckled up for a bumpy process (which some of our friends experienced) and a painful installation and... NOPE. That was not the case. All smooth and no cost creep. That is because we chose Sandbar. Sandbar is truly different. A step above others. And now we know why. 1. IN-PERSON. Others provided us a quote by email, sight unseen. That made us feel weary. Sandbar came to see our house first, inspected all the areas that would have been affected by the installation, and by meeting us, they understood what our energy goal (present and future) was and our peeve points. That turned out to be CRUCIAL for us and I still believe today that assures no surprises. BTW, no cost associated to this in person quote. 2. NO $ SURPRISES. No cost creep. And nope... their quote was not the highest either of the ones we got. 3. COMMUNICATION. They are good communicators at every level. From David to Jocelyn to Alicia. And they seem to talk to each other too, so there were no cross wires. 4. REBATES. Their assistance goes above and beyond, and thanks to the post-set-up walk-through visit, it includes submitting rebates, setting up the app, and answering all our new-to-Solar questions. So so helpful! Bottom line: Sandbar is a mile above the others. Fair pricing and excellent support. Truly a mile above others! - Vera B.

This past Wednesday, we celebrated the one-year anniversary of @annieglass becoming a solar-powered operation. We partnered with Annie to find a solution for her incredibly high electricity costs and after installing a robust system of 249 panels, her annual energy generation is now 200,000 kilowatt-hours, and her bill went from $100,000 to just $11,000! Now that's what we call a win for both business and planet!
Remember when the federal government cared about the future? When sustainability and science were valued? One of the best things about being retired is that I can go to events that simply sound interesting. Today I was at the 1-year anniversary celebration of Annieglass going solar and got to see the direct impact of the Biden-Harris Investing in America agenda. With significant funding from the American Rescue Plan, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the CHIPS and Science Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act, Annie Morhauser was able to partner with Sandbar Solar & Electric to install 249 panels on her factory roof. That's 200 KW of power being generated by the sun, not fossil fuels. And this small-business's energy bill went from $100,000 to $11,000! That's how I want my tax dollars invested. Representative Jimmy Panetta and Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren were in attendance celebrating how government can work - unfortunately they had to refer to the 117th session, not the current legislature. Senator John Laird vowed California would stay the course, which is great, but sustainability shouldn't be left only to the states or be a partisan issue. I left proud of my community, proud of my state, and wistful for what could have been for my country. Judging by the amount of press on hand, I'd guess I'm not the only one thirsting for good news. Here's Annie being interviewed by KSBW 8 NBC • Central Coast ABC • Estrella TV Btw I heard about today's celebration by going to a Santa Cruz Works presentation about GEO (generative engine optimization) in the age of AI 🤯. #sustainability #goodbusiness #govermentworking #cleanenergy #renewable

This makes me happy:)
We're honored to be chosen as the official clean energy provider for the Capitola Public Library. If you haven't experienced this lovely place, you really should—it's got a fantastic layout, great views, and rooms for the little ones to expand their brains. And to make it even sweeter, it will now be powered by the sun! 😎
