  • 🎓Did you know that employees hired after interning at the same company are 32% more likely to stay than those hired without internship experience (National Association of Colleges and Employers)? This week, SCbio brought life sciences leaders together at our Workforce Roundtable Luncheon in the Lowcountry, presented by Herb Dew, president and CEO of HTI, and Joseph Spiotta, talent acquisition manager at SHL Medical, to explore strategies for strengthening South Carolina’s life sciences talent pipeline.💫 💡As Herb Dew shared, “Everything has changed, and it’s not changing back." The next generation of workers is reshaping expectations. According to Purdue Global, 70% of Gen Z expect a promotion within 18 months.  They are also prioritizing: ➡️Purpose-driven work. ➡️Growth opportunities. ➡️A culture aligned with their values. ➡️Mentoring and development. Internship programs are one of the most effective ways for companies to meet these expectations, while also building a stronger workforce pipeline, boosting retention, bringing fresh perspectives and developing cost-effective talent. Thank you to our event sponsors, Mount Pleasant Made and HTI, and to our venue host, Charles River Laboratories, for making this important conversation possible. Together, we are building the future of South Carolina’s life sciences workforce.👏
