Every kid deserves carefree summer days, yet for 1 in 5 children in the United States, summer means struggling with hunger more than any other time of year. Share Our Strength’s mission is to change that. Thanks to critical bipartisan policy change and No Kid Hungry’s leadership, we have the opportunity to increase the number of kids accessing summer meals from 2.8 million to 31 million nationwide. In the first year alone, we have reached 18 million children – making incredible progress and showing that together, we can make monumental impact. The other week, I attended the No Kid Hungry Gala in New York to celebrate the CEO Pledge to End Summer Hunger, which I am a proud signatory of and Olo is a committed partner. As someone who once participated in SNAP, I know firsthand how vital these benefits are. They mean access to healthy meals, fresh produce, and a real chance for individuals and families to thrive.
