At Simmons, we believe in developing talent, driving efficiency, and making decisions rooted in data. That’s why we partnered with the Dept. of Industrial Engineering at the U of A's Capstone Program to rethink how we staff our production lines. Thanks to the work of our capstone team, we now have a data-driven tool that’s already helping us make smarter, more confident staffing decisions. And their hard work paid off – they took home the Outstanding Achievement in Data Analysis award! Congratulations! #SimmonsFoods #WorkatSimmons
👏 A CAPSTONE SUCCESS STORY: Smarter Staffing Starts with Better Data at Simmons Foods ❓ Ever wonder how many people it really takes to staff a production line? Often this task is completed by guesswork. ⚙ Our Capstone Team created a tool in Excel that takes a closer look at what’s happening, by factoring in product details, production speeds, worker tasks and quality expectations they were able to recommend the right number of people needed for the job. 📈 With this data-driven tool, Simmons Foods can make more confident decisions about staffing and better predict labor costs for each product. 💲 That means more efficiency, less waste, and smoother operations on the line. 🏆 For their work, the team received the Outstanding Achievement in Data Analysis award at the Capstone Symposium, which was held in the Fayetteville Town Center on April 30. 👏 #OutstandingStudents #CapstoneExperience #IEforLIFE #uarkineg Omar Qedan, Emma Higgins, Ella Pearl, Mikah Daniels, and Stella Chaney ❓ Would you like to experience a Capstone Success Story? 🤝 Partner with Capstone here: https://lnkd.in/gHgYZ3xf
