Thanks to the work of our capstone team, we now have a data-driven tool that’s already helping us make smarter, more confident staffing decisions. We believe the best way to learn is by doing.  Earlier this month, our interns rolled up their sleeves and got outside for an invasive species removal project with the Illinois River Watershed Partnership (IRWP). They spent the morning learning about local conservation efforts – and then put that knowledge to work by clearing invasive plants from the area. It was a hands-on, team-powered effort – and a perfect example of what we mean when we say our interns Do Real Work. We believe a strong start at school shouldn’t depend on a family’s ability to buy supplies. That’s why Simmons Foods Benton County partnered with Gentry Public Schools to provide free school supplies to every student at Gentry Primary School this year. With a contribution of more than $5,500, we're helping cover the cost of high-quality supplies for nearly 400 students. At a special back-to-school event in August, students will shop for what they need with help from school staff and Simmons volunteers. We’re excited to welcome Kellie Shetlar to Simmons Prepared Foods as our new Senior Vice President of Sales.  Kellie brings more than 20 years of experience in sales, business development, and finance – including 16 years in the consumer-packaged goods industry. Most recently, she served as Vice President of Sales at Conagra Brands, leading the Frozen and Refrigerated Walmart business. Under her leadership, the team delivered consistent share growth and launched several successful innovations in frozen meals and poultry. Kellie’s background in finance, her strength in building high-performing teams, and her customer-first mindset make her a fantastic addition to our leadership team. Her insights into the retail landscape and ability to align strategy with customer needs will help fuel our next chapter of growth. Great leaders make our teams stronger and our industry better.  Congratulations to Mark Weathers, who was named The Poultry Federation‘s 2025 Industry Leader of the Year at this year’s TPF Festival! This peer-nominated award recognizes individuals who’ve made lasting impact – not only through performance, but through leadership, mentorship, and service to the poultry industry. Over the past 30 years, Mark has served at every level of live production, currently as the Vice President of Live Operations at Simmons Foods. His influence extends beyond our company – serving on the Benton County Farm Bureau Board, the Oklahoma Water Resources Board, and the Executive Committee of The Poultry Federation. We believe care should compel action – in ourselves and in those around us. Earlier this Spring, we were proud to host the annual Chaplain Leader Group (CLG) summit at our Pet Food office in Rogers, AR. This gathering brought together leaders from across the country who represent more than 2,000 chaplains supporting over one million employees nationwide. CLG focused on trends in team member needs, opportunities for proactive pastoral care in the workplace, and strategies for supporting the Chaplains who support others. We're grateful for our partnership with Marketplace Chaplains the past eight years as our company continues to grow. Todd Simmons, CEO and Crystal Steen, PhD, Senior VP of Culture and Learning, joined to share personal stories and reflect on how this work shapes our culture every day. Our chaplain team is led by Nick Braschler, whose steady leadership and heart for service continue to guide this important work forward.
