Over 20,000 pregnancies end in stillbirth each year. Florida loses 1,529 babies a year to stillbirth, and the state has one of the highest rates of stillbirth in the country. That’s why we partnered with and donated $75,000 to Count the Kicks, the stillbirth prevention program that has saved more than 150 babies across the globe. Through this program we are equipping maternal health workers with the tools and resources they need to educate and empower expectant parents about monitoring movements during the third trimester of pregnancy. This program has already directly saved the lives of two babies here in Florida, and we believe it has the potential to help save an average of 489 babies each year in Florida alone. Across Florida, asthma impacts members every day. That's why we partnered with UC Irvine, and Apple on a new study to see how digital tools can help improve asthma symptoms. Participants found that using asthma self-management apps led to significant and sustained improvements in their asthma symptoms. Additional benefits for participants included an increase in confidence to manage symptoms and a reduced effect of asthma on productivity. Florida’s first self-service heart screening program in Duval County public high schools is underway thanks to Simply Healthcare’s $100,000 investment in Who We Play For mission. A total of 17 ECG machines were distributed to school athletic trainers to utilize throughout the year – aiming to prevent cardiac arrest and save young lives.

Elevance Health Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Simply, Freedom, Optimum & Health Sun, awarded FarmShare FL $10,000 for hurricane relief. Together, we packed over 35 pallets – helping 1,400 households and 4,000 Floridians – access 35,000 pounds of food, water, hygiene supplies and other essentials. Farm Share is distributing the products to families impacted by hurricanes Helene and Milton.
