Congratulations to our very own Greg Miller, PhD for being selected to serve on the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol) Scope 2 Technical Working Group. Over 1,300 individuals applied to the four technical working groups, and Greg was one of the handful of global experts chosen to help shape these incredibly important standards.

This week, Alex Piper our head of US Markets and Policy was at the Center for Resource Solutions Renewable Energy Markets conference in Denver. Some highlights: ➡️ The panel focused on the importance of granular accounting to achieve climate and clean energy procurement targets. ➡️ Panelists emphasized that engaging utilities and tracking systems to provide granular data unlocks this exciting future for other interested organizations, not just the largest procures. ➡️ Standards from organizations like EnergyTag can play a key role in enabling registries, granular certificate issuance, and trustworthy claims. ➡️ New initiatives like the Granular Certificate Trading Alliance and the launch of the first-ever US granular certificate auction will support the beginnings of a marketplace for granular EACs, sending valuable financial signals and insights to clean energy developers and buyers. ➡️ There are exciting times ahead with further policy and regulatory requirements likely to move granular accounting forward, and now is the time for tracking systems and utilities to support the customer journey towards granular accounting and true zero.
