About us
Skyland Trail is a nonprofit mental health treatment organization based in Atlanta. For more than 30 years, we have been inspiring people with mental illness to thrive through a holistic program of evidence-based psychiatric treatment, integrated medical care, research and education. Skyland Trail serves adults ages 18 and older and adolescents ages 14 to 17. We’re not a hospital or lock-down institution, we’re one of the nation's top mental health treatment centers – a voluntary treatment community of clients finding new ways to overcome the limitations of their illness and reclaim their lives. But success is built on a two-way commitment – we’re committed to our patients and we ask our patients to commit to our approach. Each client has to put in the time and effort needed to make real and sustainable progress. As a residential treatment facility, we’re serious about healing and we’re passionate about the community we serve. Employee Eligibility Nicotine-free Campus: Skyland Trail values the health of our staff and clients and has taken steps to ensure a healthy campus and community. Please note that Skyland Trail is a 100% nicotine-free campus. There is no smoking, vaping, or tobacco use permitted anywhere on campus, indoors or outdoors. Vaccine Requirement: Skyland Trail requires employees to receive a CDC-recommended influenza vaccination annually. CDC-recommended COVID-19 vaccinations are encouraged but not required. Tattoos: Tattoos on the face, head, or neck, that cannot easily be covered and cause distraction from a therapeutic standpoint, are not allowed. Piercings: No visible body piercings, other than pierced ears and discrete nose studs, should be worn in the workplace.

On this monthly adult campus tour, Skyland Trail referral relations team members Julie Dudkowski and Shelby Gutenberger connected with folks passionate about mental health in Georgia! Julie showed Doc Eldridge, an Athens professional known for helping others find behavioral health resources, and Bailey Bass, an occupational therapy grad student from Brenau University currently training at Laurelwood Hospital in Gainesville. We love building relationships with professionals who share our mission of hope and healing.

We’re excited to build a new connection with Turnwell Mental Health, a recently opened outpatient psychiatry practice in Alpharetta. Turnwell offers compassionate care for adults in need of psychiatric support. We look forward to partnering, offering an outpatient transition for our clients completing treatment, and serving as a resource for patients who may benefit from a higher level of care. 💚 #MentalHealthPartners

Thank you to Dermatology Consultants, P.A. for visiting our adolescent program. Their healthy skin experts gave a presentation on healthy skin care, including tips for hydration, healthy sleep, and protection from the sun and screens. They also provided individual consultations for our teen clients. We are grateful for this partnership and their commitment to supporting mental health and Skyland Trail during #mentalhealthmonth and throughout the year.
