Our Asian/Pacific Islander (API) employee network was honored to welcome back three Sony-affiliated API artists to share their stories, perspectives and commitment to authentic API representation in digital media with #TeamSony. In a candid conversation that spanned storytelling, lessons learned and advice on how to live joyfully, Scott Robert Lim, Daniel Pak and Ziqi Yang reflected on their experiences and encouraged us to foster greater empathy, understanding and allyship for the API community. #APIHM #APIHeritageMonth

Earlier this month, #TeamSony kicked off Asian/Pacific Islander (API) Heritage Month in the US and Asian Heritage Month in Canada with an event designed to highlight the diverse API traditions and cultures that bind us. Team members enjoyed delicious foods, made mini-Zen gardens and candy leis, tested their API-specific knowledge in a myth-busting game and shared perspectives on representation of the API diaspora. A big thank you to our API employee network leads Jessica Simington and Jack Lo for curating a day that gave us the chance to connect, discover and reflect! #APIHM #APIHeritageMonth

May marks Asian / Pacific Islander Heritage Month (#APIHM) in the United States, and Asian Heritage Month in Canada, a time to honor and celebrate the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Asian and Pacific Islander communities. This year, our Asian employee network (eNet) leadership intentionally chose the theme "Reflection" using both meanings of deep thought and representation to plan programming throughout APIHM. It draws on reflection as a means of understanding the past, interpreting the present, and guiding the future. The connection between reflection and cultural history is multi-faceted, as it allows communities to explore collective identity, values, struggles, and triumphs. Reflection involves pausing to consider experiences, thoughts, and feelings, fostering self-awareness and understanding. It also leads us to recognize how diverse experiences and perspectives shape our world, and calls for greater empathy, understanding, and inclusion. Join us in celebrating Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month and promoting unity through understanding and allyship. #TeamSony
