Observed annually on May 15, Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) invites people around the world to raise awareness and reflect on how digital tools, spaces, and content can better serve those who live with disabilities. In recognition of GAAD, we held a special concert for employees at our NYC headquarters in partnership with Just Call Me By My Name Records. We enjoyed performances from Daniel Trush, George Dennehy, Lőrinc Barabás and Iolanta while increasing our understanding of accessibility in all its forms. To mark the return of our Beyond the Instrument program in the U.K., Sigala made a special visit to The City Academy, Hackney. He shared some insights into his career in an engaging Q&A, and got a front row seat to a special musical showcase held by the students. The City Academy, Hackney also received a carefully curated selection of high-quality musical instruments and cutting-edge music technology, equipping students with the tools to develop their talents. The school was selected in partnership with Restore The Music —a music education charity and grant recipient of the Sony Music UK Social Justice Fund. Since 2021, the Beyond the Instrument program grant aims to accelerate equity and access to music technology education for students located in historically excluded communities. #SMGImpact
