We're celebrating a major milestone in our journey to elevate the Customer Experience with the delivery of our first aircraft with a fully updated cabin. The plane's new features include: -New seats made by RECARO with multi-adjustable headrest -USB-A and USB-C ports on each seatback -Personal electronic device holders -Larger overhead bins -Tray tables with a beverage holder on each side, for lefties and righties -Extra Legroom (with enhanced snacks for these Customers coming soon!) Keep an eye out for this new plane, it's expected to enter service this Thursday, October 16th!

It’s official! New Terminal 1 is open at San Diego International Airport! Southwest Flight #2866 from Honolulu kicked things off as the very first arrival into the new space. From ribbon cuttings to balloons, new gates to art installations, this terminal launch is all about elevating your travel experience. Here’s to fresh beginnings, bold design and countless takeoffs to come!

The rivalry is back and so is our legendary Plane Pull! ✈️💙🏈   We partnered with Keurig Dr Pepper Inc., Academy Sports + Outdoors, the SEC Network, and the Southeastern Conference to bring back this epic display of teamwork, strength, and Southwest spirit.     Teams from Texas and Oklahoma (which included Employees and Customers!) laced up, locked in, and gave it their all to see who could pull a 83,000 lb Southwest plane the fastest. The competition was fierce, the energy was high, and the bragging rights? Those were earned by Team Texas.    Who are you pulling for this weekend? We’re just here for the fun (and the friendly rivalry).
