Through strategic partnerships, we’re connecting communities, creating pathways into high-demand careers, and amplifying the Pacific Northwest’s leadership on the global stage. We’re advancing key objectives including workforce development, entrepreneurship, marketing, academic partnerships, and more—all aimed at strengthening the entire space ecosystem. Washington’s space sector is globally recognized—home to giants, startups, universities, and innovators across defense, commercial, and research. But to seize the opportunity ahead, we need to grow the workforce and broaden participation in space careers—especially among women and underrepresented communities. We're riding high on last week’s Seattle Space Week, which showcased some of the best of Washington’s dynamic and growing space industry. Space Northwest was honored to offer numerous events throughout the week, sponsored by Integrate. Seattle Space Week featured a sold-out Women in Space panel hosted by Teague, our opening Lift Off industry celebration, along with Don’t Launch Blind and an Amazon Web Services (AWS) + Space Happy Hour, among numerous additional engaging events that brought together companies, policymakers, investors, and innovators from across the state. There was a distinct energy throughout the week reflecting the excitement, collaboration, and shared vision driving Washington’s space economy forward. Underscoring it all was a milestone moment: Governor Bob Ferguson’s proclamation establishing the first week of October as Washington Space Week, beginning October 4, 2025, and coinciding each year with World Space Week. This recognition marks years of collaboration between industry, government, and educators, reinforcing Washington’s trajectory as a global leader in space innovation.
