This week, Spotsylvania County is proud to recognize National Fire Prevention Week, joining communities across the country to raise awareness about fire safety. This year's theme, “Charge into Fire Safety,” highlights the critical importance of battery safety. From smartphones and laptops to e-bikes and power tools, lithium-ion batteries power many of the devices we rely on every day. But when handled improperly, these powerful batteries can pose serious fire hazards. Spotsylvania County Department of Fire, Rescue, & Emergency Management is committed to keeping our County informed and safe. Thank you to all who answered the call. We’re honored to stand alongside you.
Recently, we were honored to recognize the incredible teamwork of Spotsylvania County Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Management and our colleagues at Fredericksburg ER for their swift response to a serious multi-vehicle accident on August 23 that became a mass casualty incident involving seven patients. Because of their rapid actions and seamless collaboration, patients received the expert, coordinated care they needed in critical moments. This event is a powerful reminder of the strength that comes from the partnership between first responders and healthcare teams working side by side to protect and care for our community when it matters most. We are grateful for their commitment and proud to stand together to serve our community. #CareLikeFamily
