“Our otherness is what connects us. It’s what gives texture and beauty to the human experience… May we continue to transmute barriers into bridges—for ourselves, for each other, and for the generations who come after us.” ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🩷🤎 Last Thursday we danced, we ate, we sparkled and we celebrated at the 2025 StartOut Awards! We brought together over 300 champions for the LGBTQ+ founder community to honor trailblazers making a difference like Sophia Bush and Lt. Col. Jennifer N. Pritzker! 🌟From Jennifer Pritzker’s history of leadership to Sophia’s story of growth, the night reminded us that together, we can create a level playing field for every entrepreneur! The incredible Heidi N Closet kept the night alive with her MC skills and performances! Plus, our esteemed award presenters Adrian J. (AJ) DeLeón, M.Ed., Stacy London, and Allison Wright, gracefully gave our honorees their flowers and DJ Parker Phillips helped us dance the night away! Thank you to our host committee, NYC Programming Board, Board of Directors and staff for giving this event LIFE! And a special thank you to our supportive event sponsors, The Coca-Cola Company, Comcast NBCUniversal, J.P. Morgan, MISTR, HR1Systems, Silicon Valley Bank, UBS, and Weber Shandwick 🫶 Stay tuned for more 2025 StartOut Awards content and don’t forget to tag us in your posts! #LGBTQ #entrepreneurs #StartOutAwards #founders #queercelebration #Sponsors #StartOutAwards2025 #NewYorkCity #NYCBusiness #NYCLGBT #StartOut #LGBTQFounder Phillip Ozaki, Tristan Schukraft, Erica Bacon, Miguel A. 5 of 5 favorite moments from #SFTechWeek that I'm holding fast to... 🎙️ ...in a place where people dream and do 💯. Last one to run back... ✨ 5/ "We can all laugh and learn." ~Chris Luquetta-Fish, who did a phenomenal job organizing and hosting StartOut's "Pitches & Punchlines" which garnered more than a few laughs and some unexpected judges' critiques from legendary and fabulous drag queens Elsa Touche & Fran Zaya. But also a thank you to the following for not pulling any punches on those pitches: Vasudev from Anomaly Ventures, Herman F., Lee Edwards from Root Ventures and AJAY BAM of Vyrill and Laura Burkhauser (in spirit) 💯 👊 🏳️🌈 #RepresentationMatters If you didn't make this #StartOUT event, no stress. It was a fantastic evening filled with great opportunities. Congratulations to the team and a big thank you to Weber Shandwick for their support of StartOut's mission to empower LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs. 👏👏👏
Last night, I had the distinct honor of attending the StartOut Awards Gala in New York City, the premier celebration of LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs, spotlighting the business leaders who are driving the future of entrepreneurship. Collaborating with some amazing colleagues across our LGBTQ+ Business Resource Group at Weber Shandwick, Q+, we put in after-work hours to perform media relations, press outreach, pitching, and earned influencer outreach to gather attendees for the gala and amplify StartOut's message of resilience, creativity, and the contributions of the LGBTQ+ community’s trailblazing business leaders. I had the pleasure of collaborating with and inviting six NYC-based influencers at the intersection of queer culture, technology, and business, fostering authentic and powerful relationships during an extremely uncertain time of increasing hostile attacks on queer and trans rights organizations across the United States. Thanks so much to my wonderful partners in this project - John Daniel McCourt, Patrick Jones, Marcin Lipinski, Sam Tatham, Spencer Schrage, and Ashley Duong - as well as our partner at StartOut - Brian Richardson - for working alongside me to bring this important event's message to life. I am so grateful every day that I am still able to advocate loudly for inclusion and belonging in corporate spaces, as well as support underserved and overlooked communities through my work!
