The Indiana Department of Natural Resources will offer open houses at at numerous state forests on Oct. 28, 29, and 30. During the events, Hoosiers can learn more about outdoor recreation available at state forests and how the properties’ professional foresters work to manage the properties for long-term forest health. The Indiana Department of Education awarded the Tippecanoe School Corporation over $55,000 through their K-12 Robotics Competition Grant. This grant followed McCutcheon High School's first place win at the 2025 FIRST Robotics Competition Championship last year and will support STEM learning and robotics projects! In the spring of 2023, a tornado hit McCormick's Creek State Park, claiming the lives of two Indiana residents and destroying much of the campground along with other areas of the park. Now, the park will receive the state and federal funding it needs to rebuild. This project will involve new utilities, campsites, buildings, roads, etc. for the campground and will once again give Hoosier families a place to create memories in Owen County.
