The Idaho Industrial Commission has an immediate opening for a full-time Rehabilitation Field Consultant in our Ponderay office. This position provides a full range of return-to-work services for injured workers under the Idaho Workers' Compensation program. Successful candidates will be responsible for interviewing, counseling, and initiating appropriate return-to-work plans for injured workers. The field consultants are required to drive to job sites in an assigned area to conduct a detailed job analysis, which consists of measuring and describing the physical and environmental requirements of various occupations. The consultant assesses the employment handicap imposed by the injury or occupational disease, evaluates social, academic, industrial, and motivational factors, and arranges any assessments, treatments, job placements, or training services that may be required to expedite a return to work. In performing these duties, the consultant works closely with employers, insurance companies, medical providers, attorneys, organized labor, and other governmental and/or private agencies. This position is the initial point of contact for parties involved in the workers' compensation system, including claimants, medical providers, sureties, employers, and attorneys. This role also provides rehabilitation support to the field consultants of the Industrial Commission Rehabilitation Division. Successful candidates will be responsible for creating and maintaining rehabilitation case files. They will research, analyze, and compile accurate case information through independent contact with sureties, medical providers, and claimants. Additionally, the role involves providing clerical support to our compliance investigators.
