STLDW transforms St. Louis into a place creative exchange, professional growth, and educational enrichment.

About us

St. Louis was established as a gateway to exploration, intended to pass through or fly over. And yet, St. Louis continues to grow and expand, establishing itself as a community of artists, innovators, makers, and self-starters. We have created our own destinations, adventure, and joy within a city we love. Spanning the week of October 7th to 11th, 2024, this event transforms St. Louis neighborhoods into hubs for creative exchange, professional growth, and educational enrichment. We feature activities that include workshops, panel discussions, studio tours, and keynote speeches, and participants have the unique opportunity to engage directly with other designers of all types, explore new trends and inspiration, and gain insights into the future of the field. This celebration not only highlights the diversity of St. Louis’s design community but also encourages those connections that bridge professions and industries, showcasing our city as a center for creativity. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or simply a lover of great design, St. Louis Design Week offers experiences that inspire, educate, and connect. Join us to celebrate the power of design in shaping our world and discover the innovative spirit of St. Louis. Join us, because we are still creating.

And as a content marketing consultant, she understands exactly what it takes to figure out your core message and authentically share it to build a following. She’ll be sharing her story, and advice on how to self-publish your own book, this Friday morning as part of St. Louis Design Week! Get more info and RSVP in the comments.

  • 🎪 Model Worlds: The Power of Miniatures as Spaces of Collective Imagination 🎪 🗓️ 10.15 | 3:00 pm 📍 Work & Leisure 💲 Free & open to the public As a co-founder and partner of AVV A, Constance Vale frames architecture not just as the making of buildings but as a field uniquely positioned to project worlds that do not yet exist. Architecture, she argues, has a responsibility to do this in order to grapple with the urgent questions of climate resilience, social justice, and the ethics of emerging technologies. Miniatures—whether dollhouses, dioramas, or proving grounds—play a central role in this architectural potential. Far from being static representations or nostalgic playthings, these small worlds operate as powerful tools for thinking across scales. They allow architects and publics alike to zoom in and out—moving from intimate interiors to entire cities—and to test ideas, scenarios, and values in ways that are both concrete and imaginative.
