IBA Karachi proudly announces a remarkable achievement as its team wins the Climate Tank Accelerator! I'm thrilled to share that my team and I recently organized a Climate Dialogue as part of our Nav Vayu Project. This Project is a part of a International competition, supported by the Student Society for Climate Change Awareness and implemented by Seeds of Peace and is generously funded by the U.S. Department of State The Climate Dialogue aimed to foster collaborative discussions on climate action and engage participants in meaningful conversations around environmental challenges. It highlighted how everyone has a unique story and perspective on how climate change is affecting their daily lives. The issue isn’t just a distant or abstract one; it’s personal, interwoven into our routines, responsibilities, and the places we call home. One of the most memorable parts was an in-depth discussion we had on a specific climate-related topic. Everyone was so engaged, weighing the pros and cons with a real sense of investment. It wasn’t just about solutions; it was about understanding how complex the impacts are, touching every part of our lives in different ways.The level of involvement everyone brought to the conversation showed a genuine commitment to not only understanding the challenges but to thinking about ways forward as a community. This event underscored the purpose of the Nav Vayu Project I’m incredibly thankful to all the participants who joined us and contributed to this important discussion. GNITS was thrilled to host the Demo and Presentations from Climate Tank Accelerator (Phase-2)! In collaboration with Seeds of Peace, the U.S. Department of State, our Student Society for Climate Change Awareness, welcomed an inspiring panel of experts, including Salil Kader from the U.S. Consulate, Namitha Aby John from American Corner, and Shweta Patole & Priyank Badola from Seeds of Peace. 16 participating students of G Narayanamma Institute of Technology and Sciences showcased impressive climate-focused projects and prototypes, receiving invaluable feedback from the panelists on advancing their work. It’s been an absolute pleasure interacting and mentoring 17 groups of students from universities across Sindh and Balochistan on designing and implementing initiatives to tackle climate change. In past 10 months of this engagement, some outstanding ideas have emerged, and I am really excited to see their projects be recognized on the global stage in the coming months. The initiative is under Seeds of Peace's program on climate resilience in South Asia, having teams from #Pakistan, #India, #Bangladesh, #Nepal and #SriLanka. A huge shoutout to the Student Society for Climate Change Awareness and Seeds of Peace team for engaging and leading this initiative so brilliantly. Qasim, Shweta, Anushah, Kumail, Anum and everyone who is working behind the scenes to make it a great experience. The impacts of this is far reaching. The best part is working closely with my fellow mentor, Dr. Fozia, thanks for all the banter! And an opportunity to learn and interact with this stellar group mentors from across South Asia.
