Don't forget to check out our partners on our YouTube channel! Today is Gölcük Mtal, Gölcük Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School's turn. It is one of the largest vocational high schools in Kocaeli/TÜRKİYE. Located in the heart of the industry, it is surrounded not only by national and international factories but also by public and private Shipyards. It is the largest school, providing internships and employment to its students and trainees. It is also one of the most important institutions in the region, meeting the gap of intermediate staff required for the labour market. Gölcük VET is the only school that has a Shipbuilding Department in this region. Gölcük shipyard, linked to Gölcük Fleet Command, employs a large number of its workers from our school. Many students whom we send to the companies realise their internship in the shipyards in the Gölcük area. As a VET institution and provider, they align with the TEcoNaut project's aim to build a sustainable, greener future by composing and conducting green policies for maritime learners in VET. This achievement will also contribute to the labour market in need of green labour and the climate. We also believe that the project will encourage and promote cooperation between participating organisations & sectoral partners. Partner Institutions, which come together to build a greener future, will also be able to meet sectoral expectations in terms of VET. https://lnkd.in/dZ3eEJp8

TEcoNaut Project is always in action! Last week, one of our partners held a presentation of the project during their agenda at the Salón Náutico Internacional Barcelona (Barcelona Boat Show). Under the activity: “Working Group: TEcoNaut Project, present and future of training for the construction and maintenance of recreational boats using sustainable materials”, the ASOCIACION NACIONAL DE EMPRESAS NAUTICAS (Spanish Marine Trade Association) explained our project to professionals from the nautical industry and formation representatives. We believe that developing a vocational training course on materials produced with DeepTech technology, including content on their use and application, will foster the entrepreneurial mindset of students and future workers in the "eco" nautical sector. This will allow them to consider developing businesses linked to sustainable materials and boat-building materials' circularity while promoting their resilience skills. #greenskills #sustainability #vocationaltraining #salonnauticobarcelona

🧭 Sustainability asks for a change of mindset! To improve our future, we must give its main characters the means to do so. That is one of the main goals of the TEcoNaut project: to teach how to use new sustainable materials and promote their dissemination. In order to do that, a full course is elaborated to give theoretical and practical skills to people wanting to work in the boat-building industry. Led by the same philosophy, all partners of the project are involved in communicating with and training next generations to understand and follow sustainability rules. For example, last week, INNOVATION YACHTS welcomed the Vairé Children's City Council (CCC) to visit the shipyard, based in their town. It was an opportunity to share ideas, introduce the children to boat design, and try out a bit of practice. A simple and nice way to breathe the wind of change! 😉🌬️ #sustainableboatbuiding #educatingnextgenerations #sustainablematerials #towardthefuture #newmaterials

Last week, two of our partners Sea Teach and ASOCIACION NACIONAL DE EMPRESAS NAUTICAS participated in the conference "Industry Association and Cluster: Strategic Entities for the Balearic Nautical Activity," organised by the Balearic Marine Cluster, the Association of Nautical Companies of the Balearic Islands (AENIB Asociación Empresas Náuticas de las Islas Baleares), and the Spanish Marine Trade Association (ANEN), with the collaboration of Ports of the Balearic Islands. In front of an audience of more than 100 attendees, including industry professionals and institutions, as well as representatives of the Balearic government, the event highlighted the economic, employment, and strategic importance of nautical activity in the Balearic Islands and the need to commit to its sustainable development. During the conference, the primary economic data for the sector were presented, and leading companies in shipyards, refit, chartering, training, and port services participated in two roundtable discussions. Bringing Deep-Tech Materials into Boatbuilding Education! The TEcoNaut project is co-funded by the European Union and is bringing Deep-Tech materials into the classroom, showing how science and engineering breakthroughs can transform boatbuilding. Carbon fiber composites, bio-based resins, and high-performance coatings deliver exceptional strength, lightweight performance, and long-term sustainability. 🌱🛥️ Applied to hulls, decks, masts, foils, rudders, and interiors, these materials enhance performance, reduce weight, and minimise environmental impact throughout the vessel’s lifecycle. With this knowledge, the next generation of boatbuilders will be equipped to build greener and stronger boats. 🌊⚓ www.teconaut.eu #TEcoNaut #GreenSkills #VocationalTraining #Nauticalsector #Sustainablesolutions #Boatbuilding #Recreationalboating

How do we prepare the next generation of boatbuilders to work with sustainable materials – not just in theory, but in practice? That’s the core mission of the TEcoNaut project – and the reason we at GREENBOATS are proud to contribute. 📍 Filmed at our site in Bremen – between the workshop, our panel-based motorboat RUDI, and the GREENLANDER Sherpa expedition vehicle built with the same panels – this video introduces who we are, what we build, and how plant fibres like flax are already being used in real-life applications like the Flax27 and MB9. 🎬 In the video, Paul J. R. Riesen shares more about our journey, our role in the project – and why the TEcoNaut approach truly resonates with us. As part of the project, GREENBOATS is leading the development of a training programme for students and young professionals – focused on practical skills, material know-how, and a realistic approach to circularity in boatbuilding. https://lnkd.in/dRcnJutK #TEcoNaut #GreenSkills #FlaxNotGlass #NaturalFibreComposites #VocationalTraining #Bremen #FutureOfBoatbuilding #EngineeringWithImpact #MadeInEurope
