This week, we were proud to take part in the Cincinnati Regional Chamber's WE Speak: Unmuted – Reclaiming Our Voices in Women’s Health event. Two of our clinical leaders from The Christ Hospital Health Network, Dr. Jennifer Manders, Breast Cancer Surgeon, and Nicole Mullins, DNP, RN, ANP-BC, joined the panel to discuss the cultural, societal, and personal barriers that can cause women to suffer in silence when it comes to their health. Through their insight, attendees gained valuable perspective on how to build confidence and normalize open, judgment-free conversations about women’s health. Thank you to the Cincinnati Regional Chamber for hosting this important discussion, and to all who joined us in empowering women to take charge of their health. 💙

Giving a little helps a lot! 💙 During Advanced Practice Providers Week, our APPs hosted their annual Care Drive, bringing the entire network together to support children and families at St. Francis De Sales School in East Walnut Hills. This year’s drive gathered personal care items, hair accessories, feminine products, laundry supplies, and clothing, enough to fill three trips with two delivery carts! Proceeds from the APP Week raffles also benefited the Employee Assistance Fund and The Freestore Foodbank, extending the impact even further. A big thank you to Christine G Chadwell, MSN, APRN, NP-C, FHM, Director of Advanced Practice Providers, for leading this effort year after year, and to everyone across the network for always going above and beyond for our patients and our community.

Celebrating an incredible 4th Annual Women's Cardiovascular Symposium! 🎉 Our organization had the privilege of hosting a women's focused event in partnership Mass General Brigham Women's Heart Health Program, bringing together experts from across the country to discuss critical cardiovascular topics, from menopause and migraine management in the context of cardiovascular disease to heart disease prevention. As the only educational program in the Midwest dedicated to sex- and gender-specific cardiovascular differences, the symposium empowered providers with the latest knowledge to better diagnose and treat heart-related conditions in women. A special shoutout to Dr. Odayme Quesada, MD, MHS, FACC, FAHA, FESC, Medical Director of Christ Hospital's Women’s Heart Center, for leading another inspiring and successful event! Emergencies can strike at any moment, but our team is always ready to help! 💙 This month’s Lifesaver Award goes to fellow nurses, Hannah Robinson and Kelley Osinski from our Diabetes Center! During a walk through the front lobby, Hannah and Kelley noticed a bystander leaning against the wall, looking uneasy. When they checked in, the bystander assured them they were fine, but moments later began to lean over. Acting quickly, they called for a rapid response to our Patient & Guest Services. Relying on their diabetes expertise, they noticed signs of sweating and confusion, spotted a candy bar in the person’s pocket, and tested their blood glucose, finding it dangerously low. With support from other team members, the bystander was taken to the Emergency Department for immediate care. Thanks to Hannah and Kelley’s instincts, compassion, and quick action, a potentially serious situation was prevented. Please join us in celebrating their incredible teamwork and dedication!

Breakthrough in shoulder replacement surgery! We’re proud to share that Dr. Paul Favorito, MD, Orthopedic Shoulder Surgeon, is among the first in the country to perform a new minimally invasive, rotator cuff–sparing shoulder replacement procedure. Dr. Favorito is one of nine surgeons worldwide who worked closely with engineers from Johnson & Johnson MedTech to develop this innovative technology, which can significantly reduce recovery time. Patients may begin moving their arm within days instead of weeks, potentially shortening the typical 6-month recovery to just 6 to 12 weeks. He will now begin teaching this procedure to other surgeons from across the country at courses throughout fall and winter.
