It's Intern Takeover Thursday! This week is Sarah Litz with our self-perform team at Christman Constructors, Inc. "Coming to Christman as a marketing intern with little construction knowledge was intimidating, but everyone was incredibly welcoming and eager to help me learn. I was included in job site tours, meetings and more, which made the experience so meaningful. One of my favorite assignments was using a Polaroid camera to photograph the yard. I also learned to use InDesign and other Adobe tools, all while wearing PPE and walking active construction sites, even if I did have lip gloss in my pocket. I’m truly thankful for the opportunity to grow, gain hands-on experience, and meet such an amazing team." Our new Detroit Office opens in Book Tower 🎉 We’re proud to celebrate the grand opening of our new Detroit office inside Bedrock Detroit’s Book Tower, a milestone that reflects our renewed commitment to the City of Detroit and the Southeast Michigan region we’ve proudly served for more than 100 years. 🏙️✨ We were honored to have Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan join us for the ribbon cutting alongside our executives and partners. ✂️🎀 It’s a full-circle moment after three years of carefully rehabilitating this historic property. This state-of-the-art, two-story high school will feature modern classrooms, STEM labs, collaborative learning spaces, and athletic facilities designed to support next-generation education. Replacing the existing Cody campus, the new building will provide a safe, inspiring environment that reflects the energy and potential of Detroit’s students. This groundbreaking marks the start of a new chapter for DPSCD with a modern, student-focused campus that will serve as a source of pride for generations to come. It's Intern Takeover Thursday! This week is Fletcher Freeman from our Tennessee region. “Here is a selfie I took at my desk using the OpenSpace 360 camera. One important role I had as an assistant project engineer was to walk the jobsite with the 360 camera and upload my videos to OpenSpace. Other tasks I had were to manage submittals, manage punch lists, and schedule/record owner training. Capturing a detailed image of an OR room in the orthopedic surgery center during closeout was a highlight.
