Intentional leadership, in practice. This week, The Cooper’s executive team stepped away from the day-to-day for a sun-soaked retreat in Isle of Palms. A three-mile ruck. A guided ice bath led by our friends at Synchronicity. Designed to challenge the body, clear the mind, and create space for strategic thinking and team connection. As this team prepares to open downtown Charleston’s first luxury waterfront hotel, the retreat offered an opportunity to align on priorities, strengthen relationships, and lead forward with focus and trust. Leadership is both a mindset and a practice—and exceptional hospitality starts with a team that’s truly in sync.

Condé Nast Traveler's 2025 Hot List landed this week—and as always, it’s filled with beautiful places and thoughtful design. But what stood out most to us were the shared values: joy as a throughline, locality as luxury, and hospitality that lingers. At BHC, we’re guided by a clear point of view: hospitality should feel grounded, generous, and deeply connected to its surroundings. We see it every day in Charleston. Here, charm isn’t manufactured. It’s inherited, nurtured, and expressed with care. And we’re proud to carry that spirit forward in everything we do, from our reimagination of The Charleston Place to what’s just ahead with the debut of The Cooper, downtown’s first luxury waterfront hotel. We’re building with intention. Designing for connection. And shaping spaces that reflect not just where we are, but who we’re here for. During the 2025 Credit One Charleston Open, BHC introduced The Greenhouse—a new kind of gathering space on the tournament grounds. Open from the first serve each day until the final match wrapped, The Greenhouse offered guests a moment to pause and take in the tournament from a different perspective. Culinary offerings included a preview of The Cooper through mezze and gyros inspired by its upcoming concepts, blue crab salad and Guinness-braised beef sliders from The Charleston Place, handmade pasta and prosciutto with focaccia from Sorelle, and nostalgic treats—tennis ball macarons, doughnuts, popcorn—representing The Riviera Theater and upcoming American Gardens. Each afternoon brought gelato hour from 2–4 PM, and throughout the week, guests enjoyed the Spike’d Stunner—BHC’s signature tournament cocktail—served exclusively at The Greenhouse, Market Street Circle, and Sorelle, alongside the beloved First Serve. The space itself was layered with intention. Outfitted with patio seating, a full-service bar, air conditioning (!), soft seating, and flora-inspired touches throughout, The Greenhouse was designed to offer comfort, conversation, and a chance to linger between sets. Brought to life in partnership with TTS Studios , Swell Botanics, Beachview Event Rentals & Design, and Oak View Group, it reflected BHC’s ongoing approach to hospitality: creating thoughtful, immersive environments that live within the moment. Thank you to our partners—and to every guest who made The Greenhouse by BHC part of their tournament experience. We’re already looking ahead—and can’t wait to share what’s in the works for next year.

A Taste of What’s to Come at COCO 🎾 Last week, Credit One Stadium welcomed a select group of media and influencers for an inside look at the food and beverage experiences set to debut at this year’s Credit One Charleston Open. Against the backdrop of the stadium’s iconic green clay, guests explored the flavors and activations that will enhance the tournament experience beyond the court. As part of the evening, Chef Gabriel Haaz del Campo of The Charleston Place previewed two standout dishes from The Greenhouse by BHC—Local Crab Louie and Gnocchetti Sardi al Ragu from Sorelle—offering a first taste of what this new hospitality space will bring to COCO. Guests also got a glimpse of Tacos & Tunes, a new addition to the tournament featuring smash tacos and live music in the Michelob Ultra Lounge. Throughout the tournament, The Greenhouse by BHC will bring together flavors from The Charleston Place, Sorelle, and The Riviera Theater, alongside a bar open to all guests and an elevated tasting experience for those looking to explore even more. It will also offer a first look at upcoming concepts from The Cooper and American Gardens, making it a must-visit for tournamentgoers. With the tournament just weeks away, the excitement is building—not just for the competition, but for the energy, camaraderie, and experiences that make COCO a highlight of the season. We’ll see you at the courts.
