A new affordable housing development is coming to West O'ahu! Today, we are proud to announce The Hawaiʻi Housing Finance and Development Corporation (HHFDC) has awarded financing through its Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Program to the first phase of Leiwili Kapolei, our new mixed-use, mixed-income community being developed in partnership with ‘Ikenākea Development. This first phase will comprise two, five-story mid-rise buildings, featuring 342 new rental apartment homes, which will serve households earning between 30 percent and 60 percent of the Area Median Income. ICYMI: Michaels recently joined the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA), BRIDGE Housing Corporation, Primestor Development, and nearly 30 federal, state, and local leaders to commemorate a decade of revitalization at Jordan Downs in Watts. The first 10 years of development has brought $664 million in new investment to Watts, resulting in the construction of 787 new affordable homes, 120,000 square feet of new retail, and four new parks.
