What a year it has been at The Mint Museum! Here's a look back at some of our most memorable moments from 2024:
🖼️ We welcomed over 100,000+ visitors and hosted a plethora of impactful exhibitions, including "Whitfield Lovell: Passages," "Shinichi Sawada: Agents of Clay," and "Craft Across Continents" to name only a few!
📍 We partnered with local artists and arts organizations, including de’Angelo DIA, Fred Smith, Kenny Nguyen, davita galloway, Charlotte Is Creative, Jackie Shelton Green, Monique Luck, Carla Aaron-Lopez, Susan Brenner, Malik J. Norman, Beverly Smith, Tom Delaney, Dammit Wesley, Juan Logan, and liliya zalevskaya to name a few!
🎟️ FREE admission for students in grades K-12 and college art students thanks to Mint Board Trustee Charlotte Wickham, who danced at Charlotte Ballet's Dancing With the Stars Gala.
💖 10,000+ children were inspired through school tours, workshops, and family programs.
🎨 7,400+ Free Art Kits were created and distributed, including 3,500 shared through Communities In Schools of Charlotte Mecklenburg, Inc (@cischarlotte).
🖌️ 5,800+ visitors of all ages enjoyed creating and engaging in art at the Lewis Family Family Gallery at Mint Museum Uptown.
🇺🇸 3,000+ active or retired military personnel and their families enjoyed free museum admission.
❤️🩹 $8,448 raised from admissions in support of WNC craft artists, and 1,800+ attendees shopped at the WNC Hurricane Relief Potters Market.
📱 We proudly launched our new digital guide made possible by Bloomberg Philanthropies—making art more accessible than ever.
