Set to open in March 2026, the 130-acre complex, operated by The Sports Facilities Companies, will feature 10 all-turf fields, multi-sport capabilities, community spaces, and programming designed to deliver both economic impact and year-round recreation. The Tampa Bay Lightning and the Lightning Foundation are investing $100K to reopen an outdoor ball hockey rink at the new Sprowls Horizon Sports Park in Pinellas Park, FL. The Sports Facilities Companies is proud to partner with the City of Pinellas Park to bring this state-of-the-art complex to life. Groundbreaking took place in August 2024, construction began last December, and the grand opening is slated for February 2026. This rink is part of a larger vision for the park that includes six turf diamonds modeled after Major League spring training venues, six batting cages, a grass multipurpose field, a playground, and premium fan amenities. Together with community champions like the Lightning, this project will expand opportunities for youth and families while establishing a premier destination for sports tourism in the Tampa Bay region. #youthsports #tampa

Since opening in 1996, the Wichita Ice Center has provided a place where kids take their first strides on skates, families share winter traditions, and athletes develop into champions. Now preparing for its 30th anniversary in October 2026, the Ice Center will mark the milestone with year-long celebrations, honoring its history while building excitement for the future. Last week, I had the honor of being in City of Janesville, Wisconsin for the grand opening of the Woodman's Sports & Convention Center. The facility is a true game changer for Southern Wisconsin and this community. At 140,000 square feet, SFC is thrilled to also partner with Mercyhealth Wisconsin and Illinois as they secured naming rights for the Arena providing year-round ice and seating for 1500. The Robert & Delores Kennedy family for the Convention Center providng conferences, expos, and community events; and of course Woodman's Food Markets for the catalytic partnership to name the the Center. The projected impact is nearly $1.5 million in annual tax receipts, 228 full-time equivalent jobs, and a new Midwest destination for tournaments, conventions, and celebrations. More than 70 games and events are already booked for the upcoming season, with many more on the way. We’re proud that The Sports Facilities Companies has been chosen to operate this transformational venue, overseeing staffing, event programming, booking, and sponsorship sales.
