❗Advancing Lung Cancer Detection in Topeka❗ We’re proud to be the first hospital in Topeka to implement Eon’s AI-powered technology for early lung cancer detection and treatment, setting a new standard in diagnostic innovation and patient care. Eon’s advanced system automatically reviews radiologist reports, flags incidental lung nodules and adds patients to a tracking program. It then alerts care teams when follow-up imaging is needed—helping ensure timely care and better outcomes. Our lung cancer screening program offers personalized, fast-tracked care through a dedicated team of pulmonologists, radiologists and thoracic surgeons. By combining traditional screening with Eon’s AI technology, our providers can detect more potential cancers, regardless of how a patient enters the health system. “Our new AI-powered software from Eon adds an extra layer of diagnostic insight by flagging potentially cancerous findings that might otherwise go unnoticed,” says pulmonologist Dr. Abhishek Chakraborti. At The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus, we’re committed to investing in quality healthcare, and that includes the technology that supports our providers. To help reduce administrative burden and enhance clinical efficiency, we’ve partnered with Ambience Healthcare to expand access to their advanced AI platform across our clinics. This tool is designed to streamline medical scribing, enhance clinical documentation and improve coding accuracy. By reducing administrative burden, this platform helps our providers focus more on patient care — and reclaim time for what matters most, both in and out of the clinic. And the impact has been clear: Our providers using the platform have seen a 41% reduction in documentation time, with 70% reporting a lighter cognitive load and 100% noting improved job satisfaction. Patients are feeling the difference, too — Press Ganey scores have improved across all nine satisfaction categories. This is one more way we’re investing in our provider's success and well-being. Learn more about how we are embracing technology.
