Congratulations to the front desk staff who work at the Medical Pavilion on the 39th and Rainbow campus and the Corporate Medical Plaza. They were selected for the 2025 Levin Family Excellence in Caring Award for Teams. They represent the health system by being the first kind, friendly, helpful person a patient encounters in the ambulatory clinics they support. The Levin Family Excellence in Caring Award recognizes individuals in any support role, not covered by other recognition, who demonstrate extraordinary levels of care, professionalism and leadership.

We'd like to recognize our Spend Management department during National Healthcare Supply Chain Week (October 5-11). These supply chain professionals play a critical role in our organizations’ efforts to ensure that clinicians have access to essential medical products and services to provide the best possible care for their patients. They work to ensure top performance is met in the areas of finance, operations, patient safety, resiliency, data standards and environmental sustainability. We appreciate your unwavering strive toward excellence in everything you do for our patients and for the communities in which we serve – thank you!

Sponsored by the Reach for the Stars Foundation, the scholarship covers tuition, books and supplies for employees currently enrolled in nursing programs. Today is National Physician Suicide Awareness Day. Along with other Kansas City-area healthcare providers, we want to bring attention to the warning signs and the stigma around asking for help. If you’re concerned about a colleague or loved one, help connect them to the Physician Support Line at 1-888-409-0141 or the National Suicide Crisis Line at 988. Congratulations to urologist and male infertility specialist Dr. Ajay Nangia, who is now serving as the president of the South Central Section of the American Urology Association. A nationally-recognized expert, he was awarded with a Presidential Citation from the American Urological Association last year "for important contributions to the field of male reproductive medicine and surgery."
We are proud of our students, residents, alumni, and faculty. We gathered in Orlando for the SCS AUA meeting. Our team did everything from presenting impactful research, serving as expert panelists and moderators, providing leadership at the SCS board, and organizing this year’s meeting- President elect Dr Ajay Nangia will take over tomorrow as the President of the section.

Where the Chiefs go, we go! Depending where you are, it's either Red Friday or Sexta-feira Vermelha. Drs. Paul Schroeppel and Bryan Vopat are with the Chiefs in Brazil, doing their best to keep the players healthy and ready for tonight's game. Yesterday, they were on the sidelines with their interpreter and host physician as the team practiced. We are excited to begin our 14th season as the Official Healthcare Provider of the Chiefs!
