Kodex helps companies manage their obligations to law enforcement to prevent real world harm

About us

Companies use the Kodex portal to manage workflows, communication, and secure file transfers with law enforcement and government agencies seeking information through legal process. With request verification, end-to-end encryption, full audit trails, transparency, real-time collaboration, and API integrations, Kodex is a complete case management solution for LERT and Trust and Safety teams. Each year, millions of data requests are sent from governments and law enforcement to companies who are legally required to respond. Currently, most data requests are sent through a combination of faxes, emails, and snail mail, making it difficult to manage, track, and respond to requests securely and on time.

👮🏽🗂️ The REAL Challenge in Crypto Exchanges Dealing With Law Enforcement Requests 🗂️👮🏽 Last week I sat in on a session at the Association for Women in Cryptocurrency breakfast where Amanda Wick brought in great speakers including ⭐️ Jessica Stansfield ⭐️ Nia Statham ⭐️ Mariah Rodriguez One point that Jessica Stansfield made was the challenge for law firms and law enforcement to send data requests and receive data from crypto crypto exchanges. She also pointed out how trying it must be for crypto exchanges to understand that these requests are legitimate and not North Korean hackers attempting to exploit data to facilitate sophisticated phishing schemes. 🙋🏾♂️ I really want to raise my hand and say there is a BETTER WAY and that is what Kodex does so well. But instead of me rambling on about this challenging manual process, I spoke to my favorite blockchain investigator Melanie Lefebvre who explained why crypto exchanges struggle with data requests and subpoenas Here is a quick list of how Kodex improves this process 💭⬇️ ✅ Verifying / Vetting agents. Kodex has over 85,000 agents vetted and they include ongoing monitoring to detect any compromises these agents may have faced. This reduces the time for compliance folks doing this manually ✅ Language Barriers. Kodex has vetted agents from 100s of agencies all around the world, so your compliance department doesn't have to try and find someone that speaks the same language as the LEA that sent the request ✅ Time is Crucial. In crypto investigations, victims and LEAs don't have the luxury of waiting weeks for a crypto exchange to vet agents, they need the crypto exchange to act fast and either slow down or freeze funds 🤫 We have already started working on cutting up the videos I shot with AJ Iafrate during CoinDesk Consensus and its going to be fun showing the crypto world the power of this platform 🙋🏾♂️💭 Have you STRUGGLED to send data requests or receive information from crypto exchanges 💭🙋🏾♂️

Massive respect to Commander Alesandro Gonçalves Barreto for speaking the truth. I served as a police investigator for 15 years and was directly involved in investigating serious crimes, including school attack threats, sadistic extortion, and online child sexual abuse. I’ve seen up close the damage these crimes cause, and I know how critical digital platforms are to support fast, serious investigations that save lives. I fully agree with Alesandro Gonçalves Barreto. Apps are communication tools—just like phones, emails, and letters once were. The issue isn’t the platform itself but how it’s used. This discussion needs to go beyond “block or don’t block.” It’s about digital education, family involvement, open dialogue at home, and more adult presence in kids' online lives. Blocking an app that is used 99.9% of the time for good and actively works with law enforcement in the remaining 0.1% is dangerous. If that’s the approach, where will those individuals go next? And what if the next app doesn’t cooperate like this one does? Are we going to block all 2 million apps out there? That’s not the answer. We need more strategy, collaboration, dialogue, and fewer quick decisions that ignore the root of the problem. Kodex ensures safe, verified, and fast communication between law enforcement and companies like Discord. This saves lives. #DigitalSafety #Investigations #Kodex #LawEnforcement #OnlineResponsibility #ChildProtection #TechForPublicSafety

  • Better data infrastructure and practices = better protection of sensitive data. 🛡️ We need better critical infrastructure to support both the frontlines, such as law enforcement organizations, and the users whose data gets compromised. Ensuring investigations aren't impeded without compromising end users' privacy has to be a priority, and it truly takes a village. https://bit.ly/4jSz2af
