Updates

  • We would like to take this time to welcome to our Board of Directors Isaac Wright Jr., as Director of Advocacy, for LAEC. Isaac has a powerful story of overcoming adversity and a wrongful conviction. He was sentenced to Life in prison plus 70 years as a drug kingpin. Isaac helped litigate hundreds of his fellow inmate cases while wrongfully incarcerated and helped to overturn twenty of his fellow inmate convictions. Since his release he has been a tireless advocate for criminal justice reform, author, father, mayor candidate, and executive producer on the show “For Life,” on HULU, which was inspired by his life story. Isaac aligns with all the values of this organization extremely well. He was a first-time offender when he was wrongfully convicted and strongly believes in education on America’s justice system. Also, his message of, “the system is not broken, but it is the people who ruin our justice system,” is aligned with our police accountability division. Isaac represents hope & change, and we are honored to have him step into the role of our Director of Advocacy with the Legal Advocacy & Education Commission! . . #director #advocacy #boardmember #justice #change #wrongfullyconvicted #resilience #strength #lawyer #legal #education #advocate #thelaec #thelaecorg
