Exploring the people and breakthroughs shaping quantum technologies.
About us
Quantum computers are already optimizing drug candidates and testing new materials, not in 2050, but today. I'm Antonella Navarro, a quantum science graduate student and founder of The Quantum Revolution, where I interview industry leaders to uncover the commercial realities behind the science. With a background in chemical engineering and hands-on experience applying quantum computing to renewable energy at Siemens Energy, I bridge the gap between technical potential and business impact. The field is advancing across three fronts: hardware is scaling fast, pushing qubit counts higher while improving stability and control; software teams are cracking error correction, and applications are moving from proof-of-concept to deployment. From IBM and Google to startups like IonQ, Rigetti, and Pasqal, it's a global race with universities, tech giants, and specialized firms all pushing the frontier. But here's what's often missing: the human side. The people behind the science with their breakthroughs, setbacks, and the vision driving them forward. The Quantum Revolution captures these stories and bridges science, strategy, and storytelling in the quantum age. Follow along as I explore how quantum moves from lab to market and introduce you to the people making it happen.

🥘 How do VC funds cook up a thriving quantum ecosystem? 🧑🍳 Recipe to success: 1. Early-stage company creation (the ingredients): venture studios, university partnerships, and shared infrastructure (like Quebec’s dilution fridges as a service). 2. Path to applications (the heat): corporate partnerships and strategic investor involvement to help startups mature and find their first customers. 3. Market access (the final dish): public procurement and government relationships that give quantum companies the credibility and contracts to scale globally. This approach, adopted by Quantonation, connects universities, startups, corporates, investors, and governments to bring quantum from lab (kitchen) to market (menu). And after 5 years of Québec winters, I can confirm: Sherbrooke is the best place for dilution fridges, nature does half the cooling 🥶. ⁉️ What do you think is the hardest part of this recipe: ingredients, heat, or the final dish? 👉 Full article with Christophe Jurczak dropping Thursday, stay tuned! __ 🔗 Featuring Christophe Jurczak, Managing Partner Quantonation https://lnkd.in/ebvkar7k #QuantumComputing #DeepTech #VentureCapital #StartupEcosystem #TheQuantumRevolution

Q2B Paris 2025: Day 1 Highlights 💡 Thrilled to share The Quantum Revolution’s first insights from Q2B Paris, organized by QC Ware Corp. and Bpifrance. Three themes stood out: 🔹 Public Engagement: Bruno Bonnell delivered a powerful message to the quantum community: "It is your responsibility to help society understand quantum’s societal benefits in 20–30 years." His Eiffel Tower analogy was striking: when it was first built, no one imagined it would become Paris's broadcasting antenna, covering the entire city. Similarly, we can't yet fully grasp quantum technology's transformative potential, but we must help the public envision it. 🔹 Investment Gaps: Nicolas Dufourcq highlighted a concerning gap: "What's happening in Europe with private money?" specifically, the insufficient private sector support for quantum startups despite robust public investment. This is particularly frustrating given Europe's thriving quantum startup ecosystem, including companies like Quandela, Alice & Bob, and Pasqal. Bonnell echoed this disappointment, emphasizing the need to focus on crafting a compelling public narrative to attract private investment. 🔹 Evaluating Hardware Claims: Shane Mansfield from Quandela offered a crucial advice for assessing quantum hardware: "Not all qubits are equal." This ties perfectly with Olivier Ezratty's framework for evaluating quantum hardware roadmaps, which are essential tools for cutting through the marketing noise and understanding what hardware can actually deliver. ➡️ What do you think: how can Europe bridge the private investment gap to match its scientific leadership? #QuantumComputing #QuantumTechnology #Q2BParis #QuantumEurope #DeepTech #VentureCapital

⚡ What area of quantum is underfunded, yet holds the power to transform industries? According to Christophe Jurczak, Managing Partner at Quantonation, quantum sensing is one of the most intriguing and promising frontiers. Quantum sensing technologies are relatively mature, and their applications are well defined. The real challenge is scaling companies: most remain small and focused on niche applications, while broader deployment has proven difficult. As a result, the field continues to be underfunded despite its promise. Christophe argues that the winning model may come from hybrid approaches: combining quantum and classical sensing with advanced data processing. In the long run, this could even lead to breakthrough applications such as brain-computer interfaces, once science catches up. Do you think quantum sensing will finally get its moment? — 📰 Featuring: Christophe Jurczak | Managing Partner, Quantonation 🧠 Resources: https://lnkd.in/ebvkar7k #QuantumComputing #QuantumTech #QuantumSensing #TheQuantumRevolution #Quantonation

🐫 How close are we to quantum advantage? According to Christophe Jurczak, managing partner Quantonation, we already have quantum advantage for niche physics applications. But the low-hanging fruit for broader impact will be materials design. Within 2 years, quantum could provide a marketable advantage over classical methods, even if it only represents a small % of the workflow. Other near-term applications to watch: drug discovery, chemistry, quantum communications, and quantum sensing. Quantum-inspired solutions, like those from Multiverse Computing, are already creating real value today. Within those workflows, hybrid approaches combining multiple quantum platforms will be key. The challenge? Matching the number of qubits machines can provide with the number algorithms actually need, through both better hardware and smarter algorithms. It’s complicated, but exciting ✨ and the race to quantum advantage is very much on. What's your take on which quantum platform architectures (superconducting, trapped ion, photonic, etc.) are best positioned for these near-term applications? ___ 📰 Featuring: Christophe Jurczak | Managing Partner, Quantonation 🧠 Resources: https://lnkd.in/ebvkar7k https://lnkd.in/dGi2m_q6 #QuantumComputing #QuantumAdvantage #Technology #Innovation #DeepTech

⚡ How can quantum technologies reach their 'ChatGPT moment' and truly engage the public? "The community is not very good at crafting the message about the impact of quantum technologies." To Christophe Jurczak, quantum needs a moment similar to what AI had with ChatGPT: when all of us, as citizens, started using AI daily and understood its importance through its impact on our lives. My favorite quote is "It looks like nothing is happening, nothing is happening, and then whoops, suddenly you're in a different world" by Hartmut Neven. This describes the moment when the narrative changes because a breakthrough reaches the public. So how do we get there with quantum? Breakthroughs are already happening in labs and testbeds, with major investments showing commitment and momentum toward technological readiness. To turn this into real impact, we need interdisciplinary teams building hybrid solutions and clear stories that connect applications to people’s lives and to policy. For my generation, that shift in narrative matters. Growing up in the iPhone era, it felt like technology had peaked and global challenges were out of focus. Today, with AI and quantum, I see hope. Through The Quantum Revolution, I aim to share not only the knowledge of quantum professionals but also their hope and vision for the future. __ 📰 Featuring: Christophe Jurczak| Managing Partner, Quantonation 🧠 Resources: https://lnkd.in/ebvkar7k #QuantumTech #NextGenTech #InnovationNow #QuantumImpact #FutureOfTech #TheQuantumRevolution
