About us
Tory Burch is an American luxury lifestyle brand founded in New York in 2004. What began with a boutique in Manhattan and an e-commerce site has since grown into a global business with 400 stores across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, Asia and Australia. In addition, the brand is available at more than 3,000 department and specialty stores worldwide. Tory Burch started her company with a clear purpose: to build a global luxury brand and a foundation that would advance women’s economic power. Designed in her New York atelier, the collection includes ready-to-wear, handbags, shoes, accessories, beauty and home. The Foundation was established in 2009 to provide women entrepreneurs in the United States with access to capital, education and community. Tory has been recognized with numerous awards and honors, including the CFDA for Accessory Designer of the Year, WWD Women’s Designer of the Year, Harper’s Bazaar’s Designer of the Year, the Parsons School of Design’s Table Award, the Wharton School’s Jay H. Baker Retailing Center’s Retail Excellence Award, the SCAD Étoile Award, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation’s Sandra Taub Humanitarian Award, Forbes’s Most Powerful Women in the World, and Glamour’s Women of the Year. Her first book, Tory Burch In Color (Abrams, 2014), was a New York Times Best Seller, and her designs have been featured in the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.

Our CEO Pierre-Yves Roussel recently hosted four students from the The Wharton School as part of their prize for winning a Marketing 101 competition. He took the group on a tour of our New York City flagship on Mercer Street in Soho followed by lunch at a nearby restaurant. Along the way, he talked about his career journey and shared his best advice as they begin their professional lives. The experience received high marks. “Our conversation generated a lot of interest in luxury retail and fashion across the group and was a perfect way to wrap up the semester,” noted their professor Walter W. Zhang who joined the students. Pierre-Yves shared their enthusiasm: “Spending time with students is always inspiring – they are the future of our industry and it's exciting to see their passion and curiosity.” #teamtory

About last night… On Monday evening, we celebrated the opening of our flagship on Rodeo Drive with a cocktail party and dinner. “Working on this store was incredibly personal,” Tory says. “To me, it feels quintessentially L.A., where modern design is juxtaposed against so much natural beauty.” #ToryBurch

The first Monday in May. Filmmaker Janicza Bravo wore custom Tory Burch, designed in collaboration with multi-disciplinary artist Rashid Johnson. Tory referenced three artworks in his Guggenheim retrospective for the fabrics, and the silhouettes were inspired by Belle da Costa Greene, the visionary Black librarian who built the Morgan Library’s collection in the early 20th century. Pamela Anderson also wore custom Tory Burch. The event celebrated the Costume Institute’s new exhibition, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” a cultural and historical examination of Black style over three hundred years through the concept of dandyism. #MetGala

Thank you Emma Hinchliffe and Fortune for announcing the Tory Burch Foundation's new commitment.
Over the past 15 years, the Tory Burch Foundation has supported 387 women entrepreneurs whose revenue totals $340 million. Today, the foundation is announcing a commitment to supporting women entrepreneurs whose revenue, or economic impact, totals $1 billion by 2030, Fortune is the first to report. “Our core mission is to increase women’s economic power, and that’s by supporting the entrepreneurs and their businesses in a way that their businesses will last,” Tory Burch told Fortune's Emma Hinchliffe. Our NY offices were pulsing with excitement as 50 extraordinary women entrepreneurs – the 2024 cohort of Tory Burch Foundation Fellows – arrived for three jam-packed days of panels, workshops and community building as part of the yearlong program designed to grow their businesses. The kick-off event: a conversation between Tory Burch and Foundation President Tiffany Dufu. In a wide-ranging discussion, the two covered everything from Tory's early years building the brand to generative AI and all stops in between. “Being able to learn from somebody who's been so successful, and [has built] a brand we all know and love is just amazing,” said Taylor Tieman, lawyer and founder of The Legalmiga Library®️. It was an engaging start to a robust program with proven impact. As Tiffany was quick to point out, “Entrepreneurs who participate in our programming stay in business longer, are more likely to surpass $1M in annual revenue, and secure funding at higher rates than their peers.” The secret sauce: community. “That’s the most important resource we can offer our fellows,” said Tiffany. “Community is pretty much the answer to every question.” #womenentrepreneurs #teamtory

For Earth Day, we wanted to share a recent hands-on lesson in circular fashion at Parsons School of Design - The New School. Our company donated past-season samples for an innovative upcycling project that challenged students to deconstruct, reconcept and reimagine clothing, handbags, shoes, jewelry, and deadstock fabrics into entirely new garments. The assignment was itself recycled with our company participating for the second consecutive year as part of our continuing partnership with the School of Fashion at Parsons, now in its fourth year. The project culminated in an in-class presentation where 11 finalists shared their work with Tory and members of the Sustainability, PR & Creative teams. “It’s incredible to see the passion for impact in the next generation of designers, and the ingenuity and creativity with which they approach sustainability,” said Jennifer Gootman, SVP, Global Head of Sustainability & ESG. #earthday2025 #teamtory
