After becoming #GPTWCertified, we doubled down on professional development (something our team had been asking for), launching a Radical Candor® training series (shoutout to Farrah Mitra for a great workshop!), setting annual PD goals for every employee, and adding monthly feedback check-ins. We also updated our weekly Sunshine Shoutouts to celebrate candor and growth. These changes are helping us build a culture of honest, caring conversations that strengthen relationships, boost confidence, and make growth a shared priority across our team. This #HispanicHeritageMonth, we’ve celebrated leaders whose stories and experiences shaped their careers and fueled their dedication to helping students thrive. For Dr. Albert Hernandez Jr., Superintendent of Big Springs Charter Schools, it was his parents’ values that gave him the “strength to strive for much more in life” and guided him toward a lifelong journey of learning and success. The 89th legislative session will be remembered for years to come! HB 2 removed the cap on public charter school facilities funding, unlocking $100M for students in 2025.
