If you’re unfamiliar with the world of wild Alaska pollock, allow us to introduce you. And if you think you know the fishery, think again. Beyond the rugged shores of Dutch Harbor, Alaska, a crew of six works aboard the F/V Northern Patriot. Out here at the edge of the earth, it’s not just a job. When you’re on board for a full season, out for multiple days or weeks at a time, the crew becomes a second family forged through early mornings, hard work and a shared commitment to safety and sustainability. The Wild Alaska Pollock fishery is one of the most carefully managed fisheries in the world. It’s backed by decades of science, strict quotas and crews that have a deep-rooted respect for the environment. But numbers alone don’t tell the full story. It's the people behind the numbers that make the difference. To be a fisherman is to carry a weight of responsibility few outsiders ever truly see. And on the Northern Patriot and other vessels operating in Alaska, the future isn’t just something to dream about. It’s something they’re building every day with hard work, innovation, heart and hope. Better understanding how the wild Alaska pollock fishery became one of the most carefully managed fisheries in the world starts by understanding those who fish it. Read the full story to see how the people behind wild Alaska pollock are shaping one of the world’s most sustainable fisheries: https://lnkd.in/gbcjPVss #Sustainability #TridentSeafoods #OceanStewardship

Nothing makes it to the grocery store without our processing crews. It’s here that Alaska seafood is trimmed, weighed, packed, and sorted—with the kind of poise and consistency we all rely on.
