Conversion is the modern marketing automation platform built to make B2B marketing faster, smarter, and more personal. We believe every company deserves tools that match how people actually buy: flexible, responsive, and deeply personalized across every touchpoint.
Built for high-growth teams, Conversion combines a drag-and-drop email builder, AI-powered personalization, real-time segmentation, and powerful no-code workflows. Marketers use it to move faster, experiment more, and create experiences that actually convert.
Conversion is trusted by over 5,000 businesses to supercharge their marketing automation, including Abacum, Clay, Hockeystack, and 11x.
I'm excited to announce that Ishaan Maheshwari has joined Conversion. He’s 19 years old. We just gave him a six-figure salary to leave Duke and become one of our earliest growth hires.
We first met Ishaan at our Series A poker celebration. Within minutes, he was breaking down everything wrong with GTM and MarOps tooling and offering sharp ideas on how to fix it. At 19, he already knew more about GTM tech than candidates twice his age.
Before joining us, Ishaan worked on growth teams at Rho and Vert, where he developed a rare mix of technical skill and commercial instinct. In his first week at Conversion, he built a cold email campaign that doubled our conversion rate. His blend of GTM depth and engineering background makes him a new breed of operator - someone who can design, build, and scale growth systems from the ground up.
Hiring Ishaan reflects how we think about talent at Conversion. We’ll always bet on people who are young, ambitious, and driven to prove themselves. Some of the best builders in our company joined us before their 20th birthday.
Welcome to the team, Ishaan!
This feature I didn’t know I needed… until I used it 50 times this week. Introducing slack pings inside Conversion.
One of the biggest asks from our customers has been simple: keep the entire team closer to business outcomes.
Starting today, you can send Slack pings directly from Conversion.
Every rep, marketer, or AE can now get real-time alerts the moment something important happens. A new demo request. A pricing page visit. A deal moving stages.
Here’s how it works:
1/ Trigger on any form fill, product event, or engagement.
2/ Send a Slack ping to any channel or teammate.
3/ Include every detail from the contact or account record, at scale.
The result: no more buried updates in dashboards. Everyone sees the signal, right when it happens, so they can act immediately.
Go set up your first Slack ping today.
I’m excited to share that Conversion has raised a $28M Series A led by Abstract to build the modern marketing automation platform.
Four years ago, James Jiao and I started Conversion out of our UC Berkeley dorm room. Since then, we’ve launched, pivoted, and rebuilt the product more times than we can count.
Every pivot was a lesson. We changed the product, changed the audience, changed the pitch. But every time we tried to grow, we got stuck fighting the same outdated software.
For two decades, marketers have been stuck using software invented in 2006: Oracle Eloqua, Salesforce Pardot, Adobe Marketo, and HubSpot Marketing Hub. These tools were built before LinkedIn ads existed, let alone AI-driven campaigns.
In an era obsessed with “move fast and break things,” we chose a different path. We spent years working with top design partners to build a MAP that feels like Figma, enriches like Clay, and scales like HubSpot — but built from the ground up for modern marketing teams.
Today, Conversion is trusted by over 4,000 growing companies, including OpenAI, Abacum, Paraform, Warmly,Motion, and HockeyStack. In under two years, we’ve grown to nearly 8-figures in revenue, making us one of the fastest-growing marketing startups in the world.
Our gratitude to our investors, customers, founding team members, friends, and family cannot be overstated. This is a special team on a bold mission to displace massive, legacy incumbents. A mission to make marketing software feel like magic.
---
This $28M round was led by Abstract Ventures, with participation from HOF Capital, True Ventures, Antler VC, and top angels from OpenAI.
A few special thank-yous:
1/ Our incredible investor group led by David Kwon, Puneet Agarwal, Victor Wang, and Chris Millisits, for believing in our vision.
2/ Our amazing design partners: Max Beauroyre, Stephanie Bian, Joseph Wang, Pranav Mital, Ethan Yu, Veronica Dominicis, and Finn Mallery for helping us build something complex, elegant, and powerful.
3/ And most importantly, our team: Charlie He, Kyle Wonzen, Levi Kline, Matthew Rowland, Tayler Dunn, Sam Bochner, Naasir Farooqi, Swamik Lamichhane, Varun Nair, and Jimmy Li. Founders are only as strong as their team, and James and I feel incredibly lucky to work with such an amazing team everyday.
We’re hiring across GTM, marketing, engineering, and design. If this mission speaks to you, our careers page is in the comments.
If you’re tired of broken workflows and generic emails, comment “Conversion” and we’ll send you 100 high-performing templates from the best companies in the world.
PS: two years ago, we were nearly out of cash, surviving on Chipotle rewards points in Berkeley and deep into our second pivot. To every builder out there: stay scrappy, inquisitive, and grateful. Building a startup is a privilege. Keep going.
🏓 Conversion has entered the chat.

HUGE announcement that Varun Nair is now Conversion's newest Growth Engineer.
Varun is leaving his Big Tech, remote-friendly job at Coinbase in NYC to take a small pay cut and come work 6 days per week in person in San Francisco.
Why would anyone do that?
I've known Varun since we were at UC Berkeley together, and after failing to convince him over the phone to come join, I invited him to join the team for lunch casually. After that 30 minute lunch, Varun was sold. In his words, "there was something about being in a group of 15 young hustlers trying to change the world that you just don't get at Big Tech."
Varun wants to win, have fun building amazing things quickly and autonomously, and eventually, become a generational founder. We believe Conversion is the perfect place for him to get all those things done.
Varun - welcome and congratulations on the new gig and move to the west coast. We are super pumped to see you grow with us!
We went from $0 to $6M ARR in under 18 months using primarily paid marketing channels (especially Google Ads).
The best part? We spent <$2M to do it.
But paid is so expensive and competitive, right? Not if you do it correctly.
I'm giving away the exact internal playbook we used for Search Engine Marketing (100+ hours of learnings on over $1M in spend), including:
1/ What is the ideal amount to spend on branded keywords?
2/ How many new ad variations/creatives should we test each month?
3/ How much should you spend on retargeting campaigns?
4/ When (and how much) should you bid on competitor terms?
5/ How do you continually generate new keywords to increase search volume?
6/ When do you know you need to prune certain keywords?
Want our full guide? Comment "CONVERT" and I will send it to you. Part 2 coming soon!
It has been amazing working with Jeremy Boudinet and the Textla team!
Such amazing results can only come from a great team, great product, great customer, and a little Conversion agentic magic. 😜 Using Seona, they've seen a 56% increase in organic traffic. I'm super excited to continue sharing these stories!
Today, I'm excited to welcome Swamik Lamichhane (ex-Forward, Harvey Mudd) to the Conversion team! Swam was referred to us by Sam Bochner, who gave him the highest praise: “Swam doesn’t quit until the job’s done.” That alone was enough to pique our interest.
When Charlie He and I first had him come on-site, we asked about his firmware experience. He simply smiled and said, “I learned it on the job.” Turns out he joined Forward with zero hardware background, but within weeks he’d become a go-to engineer - writing firmware from scratch and tackling new challenges without hesitation.
That’s exactly what we look for at Conversion: people who see the unknown as a playground, not a roadblock. We don’t bother with story points or detailed estimates. Instead, we give our engineers large, open-ended tasks to tackle head-on. Swam was a perfect fit for this from day one.
We’re growing fast at Conversion, and we need more folks like him across departments. If that sounds like you, check out our open roles (link in comments). We’d love to have you on board :)
We spent $30k on a new domain name. Then we rebranded, launched, and deployed a fresh new identity in just 21 days. 🔥 🙌
Today, StyleAI is officially Conversion, because the name should match our true mission: turning data into growth and traffic into tangible results, driving conversions as the north star for all customers.
When James Jiao and I first started StyleAI, our pitch was straightforward: build a fully custom, conversion-focused landing page in 3 minutes with GPT. That alone was a huge leap for many businesses, but it was always just the start. Through a lot of research and working closely with customers, we identified the next most important needs for digital-native businesses who want to grow their inbound. We added SEO (Seona), Google Ads (Adwin), predictive analytics, and an AI-driven data layer powering it all. 6,000 customers later, the “StyleAI” name just didn’t cover it anymore. Plus, I was tired of people thinking I was Dhruv Bindra. 🙃
Why “Conversion”?
We chose “Conversion” because it’s the one outcome that truly matters - turning visitors into customers, leads into loyalists, and traffic into trust. Our entire team is aligned on this north star, delivering real ROI and attributable conversions in a landscape where AI and SaaS businesses often struggle to prove their value.
What This Means:
1. A New Unified Brand Experience
- You’ll see our new identity across the platform, website, and socials - same mission and vision, but sharper look and copy that reflects what we do best.
2. Refined Dashboards & Tools
- We’re streamlining the UI for better collaboration, simpler funnels, and deeper data insights.
3. More AI-Powered Insights
- Our analytics engine is learning from your usage, delivering predictive recommendations that cut through the noise, all powered by our shared data layer Workshop.
4. Community & Education
- Expect more Q&As, webinars, and resources from Conversion. We’re doubling down on empowering our community. We truthfully haven’t done a good job here, and this is a big focus of Q1 (as well as more Linkedin posts from me….)
Huge shout-out to the entire team who managed to make this happen in just 21 days. Kyle Wonzen and Levi Kline were incredible for taking this from 0→1 in three weeks, and Matthew Rowland and Timofey Makhlay are two of the best frontend executioners in the bay. From design to engineering, it was an all-hands sprint, and we are extremely excited to show you what’s to come.
For more information about the entire rebrand process and our journey to Conversion, I’ve attached a link to a blog from Kyle Wonzen
and Levi Kline that dives in depth into the process for those who are going through establishing their first (or second) brand.
And if you’re curious how Conversion helps 6K+ businesses turn insight into action, shoot me a message. I’d love to show you how our AI-driven platform can supercharge your marketing stack (or check it out at conversion.ai). 😉
