About us
At UCHealth, we do things differently. We strive to promote individual and community health and leave no question unanswered along the way. We’re driven to improve and optimize health care. Our network of nationally-recognized hospitals, clinic locations and health care providers extends throughout Colorado, southern Wyoming and western Nebraska. We deliver excellent care close to home, no matter where you might live. Our success is defined by more than our patient volumes or treatment outcomes. It’s about building a team of exceptional people, from our clinical staff to our expert physicians, who consistently do what is right for the individuals we are honored to serve. UCHealth, a 501(c) (3) health system, was formed in 2012 to increase access to innovative and advanced patient care, realize supply chain and IT efficiencies, and to better serve patients throughout the Rocky Mountain region by combining academic-based and community-focused medicine. Together, the clinics and hospitals within UCHealth can offer the most advanced treatments to improve the lives of patients and their families in Colorado and beyond.

At last year’s Fiestas Patrias, Claudia Navarro Martínez stopped by the UCHealth booth for a free biometric screening and learned her blood sugar and cholesterol were high. Over the past year, she made lifestyle changes, lost 25 pounds and returned to the festival to proudly share her healthier results. At the UCHealth booth, nurses and interpreters from the Healthy Hearts and Minds program offer free screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose and BMI, while also sharing tips on nutrition, exercise and heart health. For Claudia and others in the community, these screenings make it easier to take charge of their health and see how even small changes can make a big difference.

At mile 98 of the Leadville Trail 100, UCHealth ER doctor Dr. Anne Flower did what no one expected, she sprinted. In her first-ever 100-mile race, Anne wasn’t chasing records. Her only goal was to finish. But 17 hours and 58 minutes later, she crossed the finish line as the women’s champion, shattering a 31-year-old course record and finishing second overall. Between long shifts in the ER at UCHealth Memorial Hospital Central, Anne finds her balance on the trails. The same calm and focus she brings to her patients helped her push through exhaustion, darkness and 15,000 feet of elevation gain across Colorado’s rugged peaks. “Running is something that I do out of pure enjoyment,” she says. "It keeps me grounded. It keeps me sane.”

At just 24, Haley Shirley never expected breast cancer to be part of her story. Healthy, active and with no family history, she was shocked when pain under her arm led to a diagnosis of stage 1 invasive ductal carcinoma, an aggressive form of breast cancer more common in younger women. With the support of her fiancé Braden, her family and her UCHealth care team, Haley faced chemotherapy, surgery and radiation with determination. She continued working through treatment, leaned on loved ones for strength and even planned her wedding while undergoing chemo. In August 2023, she walked down the aisle surrounded by family and friends, just days before beginning 30 rounds of radiation. Now in remission, Haley focuses on the future and encourages other young women to trust their instincts and advocate for their health. “It didn’t feel right to me, and I advocated for myself,” she said. “It could happen to anyone.”
