  • Sodium Ion Technology: Trivalent Chromium (NCrO) At UNIGRID, we are pioneering the use of trivalent chromium cathode technology, a breakthrough that sets the benchmark for sodium ion batteries. Why Chromium? Ultra-low cost – Chromium is the second most widely used industrial metal after aluminum, with a vast, mature commodities industry without need to build new mines. Non-toxic for safe handling – Unlike many critical minerals that pose health and environmental challenges. Trivalent Chromium (III) is not classified as a hazard. Ease of cathode production – Na-ion cathodes using Chromium are made via 1 single heating step, avoiding the need for traditional co-precipitation techniques. Battery Advantages: ⚡ High power output for cranking or pulse power applications 💲 High tap density maximizes production throughput with lowered costs ♾️ Ultra-long cycle life for truly durable storage solutions 🛡️ Extremely safe as it does not decompose to generate oxygen & heat 🔋 Narrow voltage curve to allow ease of system integration and stable power delivery Interested to test it out?  Order Samples at UnigridBattery.com #BatteryInnovation #EnergyStorage #Sustainability #SodiumIon

Attending @RE+ this week? Our Co-Founder & CEO Darren H. S. Tan is speaking today, details below: Tuesday September 9, 2025, 10:30 AM -11:30 AM PST Session Title: Beyond Lithium Batteries: Emerging Options for New Approaches to Storage As renewable energy demands rise, the need for diverse energy storage solutions becomes more urgent. This session will explore emerging alternatives to lithium-ion batteries, such as flow batteries, hydrogen storage, and advanced sodium-ion and sodium-sulfur (NAS) batteries. These technologies offer significant advantages in cost, safety, and supply chain resilience and present new opportunities for energy operators looking to enhance grid flexibility and long-term sustainability. Session Location: Veronese 2501, Level 2, The Venetian Expo #REPlus25 UNIGRID Booth Booth # V2299 Venetian Expo, Floor 1 Not attending? Check out our tech and order samples at UnigridBattery.com

It's not just about the technology, it's about the people behind it. So-Yeon Ham started with the UNIGRID team in 2024. We are happy to announce that So Yeon has been promoted to Senior Scientist to support the growing demand for UNIGRID's ultra-safe sodium ion batteries. Interested in learning more about our team? Yesterday, we were honored to welcome back our long-time collaborator Dr. Darren H. S. Tan, Co-Founder and CEO of UNIGRID Battery, on his second visit this year to the Philippines—this time on a holiday with the team around! 🙌 Thanks again, Darren, for sharing your deep insights on batteries and the industry with us (John Echauz, Maricor Divinagracia-Luzadas, BenJeMar Flores, John Angelo Yago, Joshua Santiago). It was Darren’s first time to see that just 4 of their power cells could start a car multiple times, and he was truly amazed! A powerful testament to the strength and potential of sodium-ion technology. We’re now looking ahead with excitement. This year, Nascent Batteries will be pilot testing our NIB-based SLI batteries, paving the way for safer, stronger, and more sustainable solutions for the Philippines and beyond. #InnovationInAction #ScienceOnTheGround

  • Why Prismatic Cells are a Favored Form Factor: Prismatic cells are one of UNIGRID’s most requested from customers and for good reason: ✅ Excellent packing density and safety properties ✅ Ease of assembly in a wide range of applications ✅ Long-standing industry familiarity and supply chain compatibility This is why UNIGRID has focused on delivering high-quality prismatic cells built for the growing energy storage and motive markets. We now offer these in 70 Ah (50x160x108mm) and 210 Ah (72x173x207mm) formats, the best part is they operate without the need for thermal management! 📦 Interested in testing them out? • 🚨 UNIGRID is now certified to ship sodium-ion cells anywhere in the world. Our 9.5Ah cylindrical and 210Ah prismatic cells have officially achieved UN38.3 certification, the global standard proving batteries are safe for transport by air, sea, rail, or road. Why it matters: UN38.3 ensures that batteries can be safely shipped worldwide by air, sea, rail, or road. Passing requires a series of demanding tests including altitude simulation, thermal cycling, vibration, shock, short-circuit, overcharge, and forced discharge. With this milestone, we are now fulfilling MWh customer commitments and accelerating deployments of safe, high-performance sodium-ion energy storage solutions. #BatterySafety #SodiumIonBatteries #EnergyStorage #BatteryInnovation

🚀 Milestone Unlocked: 1 Ton/Day Sodium-Ion Cathode Production! In 2024, we hit an important milestone, producing 100 kg/day of our innovative sodium cathode material at pilot scale. We then set ourselves an ambitious challenge: 10x capacity increase within a year. Today (2025), we’re proud to share that we’ve reached that goal ahead of schedule, now producing 1 metric ton per day. This capacity enables ~100 MWh/year of sodium-ion cell production, allowing us to deliver on our rapidly growing customer commitments. Our next target is to expand this again, by another order of magnitude, to support GWh scale adoption of sodium-ion batteries worldwide. 📸 Below: A glimpse of our team commissioning our newly expanded cathode facility. 💡 And yes, our cathode is green in color. Can you guess why? Hint: It is made of the same material as the US dollar bill (Greenback) Interested in our tech?
