This month, as part of their JSB Meets JET Alumni series, the Japan Society of Boston spotlights Aiya Perrine (Akita, 2022–2024), whose love for Japan began in childhood and deepened through her time teaching in Yurihonjo, Akita.⁠ 🌸⁠ From cherry blossom festivals in Yokote to cheering at the Akita Sumo Charity Tournament, Aiya embraced local life, language, and cuisine: kiritampo, iburigakko, and all!
