WHAT a DAY. For a second time, the Home Depot Foundation donated 400 volunteers and all the materials for a day of improvements at Freedom Springs in Colorado Springs, CO. We updated the garden beds, painted murals, painted all the commons areas with fresh paint, updated the patio furniture, built a dog park, installed a sprinkler system, updated all mulch, and resodded. To end the day, each Veteran got a new bike! A huge thank you to The Home Depot Foundation and their incredible volunteers for bringing so much energy, generosity, and joy to our community.

We officially cut the ribbon at Warehouse @ 700 Broad Street in Utica, NY! This newly redeveloped historic building raises the bar for what affordable housing should look like. The grand opening featured guided tours, inspiring speakers, and a celebration of progress and partnership. Huge thanks to People First and everyone involved for bringing this vision to life. This is just the beginning — stay tuned as we continue building a brighter future for Utica, one home at a time.

Yesterday we celebrated the grand opening of Gillespie Gardens in Cordele, GA! The development encompasses the adaptive reuse of four historic buildings, alongside the construction of a new three-story building. Offering 53 affordable mixed-unit housing options for individuals and families, Gillespie Gardens aims to pay homage to the area's rich heritage, particularly the Gillespie-Selden Institute's legacy as an educational and medical hub for African Americans. In the afternoon, residents gathered in the community garden, where kids got their hands dirty, planting veggies and growing memories together.

Vecino's Wesley Brown and Jordan Gibson attended the Georgia Affordable Housing Conference, where they had the privilege of accepting this recognition. Today we celebrated the grand opening of Birdsong in Phoenix, AZ! 🌞 This sustainable, net-zero development brings 72 affordable 3-and 4-bed townhomes to the Maryvale neighborhood, with a focus on community and sustainability. With 10 different languages spoken among residents, it’s a vibrant, multicultural community where everyone feels at home. We celebrated in the center of it all next to our community clubhouse, playground, and vibrant pool. What a beautiful day to celebrate a brighter, greener future!

Nothing goes better with the greater good than hometown feels. We are ecstatic to be under construction on Sankofa, the new development - and 2 doors from our Springfield MO office - that will bring 42 homes plus retail and a business incubator space run by the Springfield Multicultural Business Association. Zone 1 Councilwoman Monica Horton put best: “This development demonstrates why we call C-Street ‘The pride of the Northside!‘ ”
