2025 afforded us another great year of opportunities to work, grow, and share with our surrounding community of Troy, and Upstate New York. We're thankful for the many experiences to invoke and facilitate growth within the wonderful disciplines available in gaming, while also investing in the prosperity of those in need of charitable services locally. Thanks to Cait from Albany Medical Center for stopping by our Velan HQ to offer words of encouragement, support, and a supply basket for our Extra Life Game Day last weekend. November 8-9, the Velan staff came together for our 9th Annual Extra Life Game Day. Totals are still being tallied, but we're at more than $3500 raised for Bernard & Millie Duker Children's Hospital! We couldn't be happier with the benevolence shown in support of the fundraiser. Thanks to Albany Med, Extra Life, the donors, and the Velan family who made this possible.

The Bernard & Millie Duker Children's Hospital is our region's only children's hospital and treats all children regardless of ability to pay. Our goal this year is $3000. We're taking a bit of a different approach to announcing our next project. In a world where highly polished trailers are commonplace, we're pulling back the curtain on a prototype that's only been in the works for a few months by a tiny team of only a couple devs. We've found a core game mechanic that's fun, and we'd like to bring you on our journey as we explore what this game might become. Climbing Chaos is early prototype of a ridiculous physics-based party game where you grab, climb, and tumble with friends! Move your body and each arm independently, climb anything you can grab, and embrace the chaos with up to four players. Salutations present and future 𝙈𝙞𝙙𝙣𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙈𝙪𝙧𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝘾𝙡𝙪𝙗 aspirants. We’re itching to get back into the manor, waiting to once again skulk about its dark halls. In our excitement, we might have gotten a little bit overzealous… If you haven’t been paying attention, 𝙈𝙞𝙙𝙣𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙈𝙪𝙧𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝘾𝙡𝙪𝙗 is a game designed for you to invite five of your closest friends (or enemies, we don’t judge) into the pitch-black darkness of Wormwood Manor. Armed with only a revolver, you hunt each other down through the winding halls using only the sound of distant voices and the light of your flashlight to guide you. What sounds like a serious FPS quickly turns into a comical cacophony of chaotic silliness as you argue through doors, whistle intimidating tunes, or simply just silently sneak up on your unsuspecting buddies. Our original February launch date has been pushed back to March 13th - I think you’ll agree, it’s all worth the wait! We’re adding a LOT to our already robust Early Access game! 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲! Wildcards is the newest game mode where you can affect gameplay through cards you play and collect. From hijacking what items spawn in the vendors, to affecting the player models, to even changing the game mode entirely, you and your friends define your game each round! After each round, you will be able to choose more cards to add to your collection, giving you ample opportunities for future chaos.  But wait, there’s more! We realize that the best way to play 𝙈𝙞𝙙𝙣𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙈𝙪𝙧𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝘾𝙡𝙪𝙗 is with friends, and we want to make it as easy as possible for you to do so! 𝙈𝙞𝙙𝙣𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙈𝙪𝙧𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝘾𝙡𝙪𝙗 𝙂𝙪𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙋𝙖𝙨𝙨 𝙀𝙙𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 allows five of your friends to join your game even if they haven’t bought it yet! While Guest Pass accounts cannot host a lobby of their own, they will be able to play any game mode with you! Everyone should get a shot (pun intended) at joining the club. 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁! We’ll be taking community feedback directly and continuing to make the game something even more special. Our discord and socials will be open for discussions, feedback, and updates directly from us! When we launch in 1.0, we plan to make this the most fun you can have tormenting your friends outside of best man speeches.  With these updates and more to come, we hope that you’re as excited as we are. We are so ready to once again haunt the manor, jump-scaring our best friends, psyching out our acquaintances, and cackling menacingly through the darkness.
