Philanthropy is woven into the fabric of Arlington and new Foundation Board members bring invaluable knowledge of our community. A big welcome to our newest board member - Paul Romness, Founder and CEO of OS Therapies, a biotechnology company focused on clinical research and development. Paul's work is deeply personal—he co-founded the OS Collaborative in 2017 after his daughter’s best friend was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, raising more than $3 million for research. Mr. Romness brings more than 25 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, having held roles at Johnson & Johnson, Amgen, and Boehringer Ingelheim. 💬 “Paul’s leadership has been devoted to advancing life-saving treatments and ensuring patients have access to the best care close to home,” said Amy Ellis Hauser, CFRE, President of the VHC Health Foundation and Senior Vice President at VHC Health. “His expertise and passion for ensuring each person can access state-of-the-art care aligns perfectly with the Foundation’s mission and the promise of VHC Health.” Read more at https://lnkd.in/d3t9p8QZ

Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association (VHHA) and the VHHA Foundation hosted the 2025 Virginia Behavioral Health Summit. The “Community: Building an Accessible System of Care Across the Continuum" theme focused on connecting providers, advocates, and stakeholders around practical strategies that expand access and improve outcomes across Virginia’ s behavioral health care delivery system. VHC Health was a proud lunch sponsor. The 2025 Summit featured a robust lineup of speakers, panel discussions, and breakout sessions including keynote remarks on the topic of compassionate behavioral health: 🎤 Ryan Campbell, renowned aviator and explorer 🎤 Thomas Farley, on recovery and advocacy inspired by the legacy of his departed brother, actor and comedian Chris Farley. The event had 280+ attendees and the goal of the summit was to raise awareness of the continuum of care services offered across the Commonwealth of Virginia. Melissa Garcia, LCSW, MBA, VHC Health Division Director of Hospital Based Operations within the Medical Group and VHHA Behavioral Health Executive Steering Committee Shared, 💬 “This annual conference brings together healthcare systems to explore innovative strategies, share best practices and foster collaborations that break down silos and build bridges.” Dr. Walsh, Sr. Vice President of Medical Affairs and Internist with VHC Health joined a multi-healthcare system panel to talk about the importance of whole person health and the importance of integration of behavioral health in primary care. Recent VHHA data analyses showing a significant five-year (2020-2024) increase in hospital admissions involving patients with depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, and autism spectrum disorder diagnoses further underscores the importance of bringing providers and stakeholders together at events like the Virginia Behavioral Health Summit to foster collaboration around tactics and strategies to enhance care.
