What an incredible Oktoberfest we had in Hays! 🥨 🍻 From delicious German food to annual traditions, it was a celebration to remember. Thank you to everyone who joined us in Hays and made it unforgettable! Congratulations to Mama G’s on winning the first-ever Battle of the Bierock! 🏆 This was a new competition to see which food vendor has the best bierock. Judges from the community scored each sample and declared a champion. It was a close competition with Second Place going to FHSU Sigma Phi Epsilon, and third place to Hays Lions Club. Thanks to the judges and vendors who made this event fun and memorable! 📅 Save the Date for Next Year: October 2-3, 2026!

CVB staff partnered with Hays Police Department to host the first Pedal Patrol in the Park bike and scooter safety event Sept. 13 at Aubel Bickle Optimist Park and it was everything I'd hoped it would be! 88 bicycle helmets were given out thanks to a grant from the Ellis County Legacy Fund and the Heartland Healthy Living Fund of the Heartland Community Foundation. Ellis County Health Department assisted with helmet fittings. Hays PD Bike Patrol officers taught riders the rules of the road through group rides and a safety obstacle course. Let's do it again next year! #bikesafety
Today I was excited to welcome the Society of Layerists in Multi-Media to their "To the Stars" conference in Hays. What a talented group of artists from all over the country!
