From storyboards to production schedules, Katie-Jane Morris has built a career that blends creativity with collaboration. As an Art Manager at TT Games Ltd, she supports over 100 artists across all levels and nine core disciplines, balancing workloads, resource planning and cross-functional communications across the department. “I’ve always loved art and being creative,” she shares. “But I was better at the organizational side of things and soon found myself gravitating toward production. I still retain my artistic flair though, and pride myself on my very aesthetically pleasing schedules.” While her career began in children’s television, it was a timely job listing from an animator colleague that led her to TT Games. “I had been playing their games for years without realizing it,” she recalls. “My first project at TT Games was working on LEGO The Lord of the Rings – and as a movie buff and massive J.R.R. Tolkien fan (I literally wrote my dissertation on ‘The Lord of the Rings’) this was a dream come true!” Now after 13 years with the company, Katie-Jane has led projects like LEGO Ninjago: The Shadow of Ronin (her personal favorite) and LEGO Jurassic World. She is also working on the newly announced action-adventure videogame, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. “The reception from our players has been phenomenal,” says Katie-Jane. “LEGO Batman: The Videogame was one of the first LEGO games I played, so having the opportunity to work on LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight has been brilliant. The creativity and love the team have poured into this game really shines through.” As the art team continues to work on this highly anticipated title, she also highlights the collaborative spirit at Warner Bros. Games and encourages aspiring devs to persevere: “I love that I get to collaborate with so many talented and creative people across not only my studio but others at Warner Bros. Games,” she says. “It can be hard to get your foot in the door in the games industry, but small things can make a big difference. Highlight transferable skills and don’t be afraid to reach out to established devs. Many would be happy to offer advice.” Outside of work, Katie-Jane cross-stiches in her spare time and spent a year sewing a piece with over 60,000 stitches! But whether she’s making thousands of stitches or coordinating hundreds of artists, she brings the same level of care and creativity to every pixel and project—just like building with LEGO, one piece at a time. #EmployeeSpotlight #LifeAtWBG
