This year's Emerging Leaders Program has officially wrapped up! The program, which marked its fifth year of supporting early career professionals to get access to the outdoor industry, came to a close last month. This year's cohort developed professional skills, gained technical certifications, orchestrated independent projects and put in a bunch of time on trail. Our Honda Passport Trailsport “Wallace,” generously donated by our partners at Western Washington Honda Dealers, has been on a real roll so far this year supporting WTA’s Outdoor Leadership Training program. This program gets school-age youth outside by empowering teachers and youth program facilitators with resources to lead safe and fun outdoor experiences. In March, Wallace helped transport snowshoes and other gear to Gold Creek Pond for a snowshoeing workshop to train five leaders. WTA staff also recently took Wallace for a spin to Point Defiance Park to deliver rain gear, trekking poles and more for a hiking workshop where we trained nine leaders.
