It’s exciting to see WateReuse members DC Water and Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works sharing vital knowledge about Anne Arundel’s aquifer recharge project! This year, our Mid-Atlantic region members helped shape and advocate for the passage of SB 930 in the Maryland senate. This legislation paved the way for the Maryland Department of the Environment to issue a groundwater recharge permit for this innovative pilot project.
Thank you to the Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works for hosting us at your Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR) pilot site. From data collection to groundwater protection, the visit opened up important conversations about how innovation is shaping long-term resilience. As DC Water explores avenues for a second water source, learning about recycled water programs like "our wAAter" helps us to understand what it takes from concept to testing and implementation. Field visits like these aren’t just informative. They help deepen relationships and sharpen the collective insight we need to protect our most essential resource. Grateful for the opportunity to listen, learn, and collaborate with fellow public works leaders as we all work toward a stronger, more resilient water future. 💪💧 #DCWater
