Sean Musch and Michael Charles Borrelli, AI & Partners, helped to clarify the definition of #AI systems under Article 3(1), including, models, algorithms, reinforcing the EU’s commitment to promoting uptake of trustworthy #AI. 💡 What does this mean? The guidelines broadly define an #AI system as a machine-based system that, for example: ✅ Operates with varying levels of autonomy ✅ May exhibit adaptiveness after deployment ✅ Generates outputs like predictions, recommendations, content, or decisions that can influence physical or virtual environments 🚀 Key Insights: 📌 The European Commission's EU #AI Act applies only to systems that meet this definition, distinguishing #AI from traditional software 📌 Machine learning, logic-based, and knowledge-based systems are included, but basic data processing tools and rule-based automation may be excluded 📌 The definition ensures flexibility to accommodate future technological advancements ⚖️ Why does this matter?
