A new report from Mining and Materials Markets Ltd. found that there is 4X as much #aluminum available for #recycling today in the U.S. than we consume annually and that the supply of #recycledaluminum will continue to outpace demand over the next 15 years. By 2040, the pool of aluminum available for recycling is expected to grow to 21.8 million tons - far exceeding the 5.6 million tons of expected consumption!
This is great news because #recycled aluminum is increasingly important to the U.S. and global #manufacturing #supplychain, providing a stable and #sustainable source of #renewable #resources for the #manufacture of everything from beverage cans, #automobiles and other consumer goods to our power grid, satellites and other critical #infrastructure. The #recycledmaterials industry is built on strong economics, #innovation and an abundant reserve of aluminum to support the U.S. #manufacturing base now and into the future, completely undermining calls for #exportcontrols. #saynotoexportcontrols #UBCs Recycled Materials Association (ReMA)ReMA Young Executives Council (ReMAYE)ReMA Women in Recycling Council (WIR)David BestwickColin KellyAndy GoldingJohn SaccoRecycling EuropeBIR - Bureau of International RecyclingOlivier FrancoisAlev Somer Arnaud Brunet National Association of Manufacturers - NAMCouncil of Manufacturing AssociationsPaul Hartgen, CAE ReMA Gulf Coast RegionReMA Southeast RegionReMA New England ChapterReMA New York ChapterReMA West Coast ChapterReMA Pacific Northwest ChapterCanadian Association of Recycling Industries (CARI) #aluminumrecycling
